Enough About The Dress: Kate Middleton Does Own Makeup Royally

Beautiful royal wedding.

Sophisticated, elegant bridal gown.

And just as importantly......a stunning bride in perfect makeup. Nothing over-done. Just polished and pretty.

As we told you yesterday.....Princess bride Kate Middleton did her OWN makeup. Like we said----that took sheer confidence or a very steady hand.

We are impressed! The British papers claim that the brunette beauty received a few excellent lessons in makeup by London-based make-up artist, Arabella Preston.

Wish we had the cosmetics brands that the princess bride chose for the most important day of her life, but so far, we have not been able to hunt down that information.

But we can tell you, that Kate Middleton did not shy away from a lovely smoky eye, as pictured here. And talk about perfect eyebrows! We are envious. A gorgeous stroke of the brush to emphasize those brows. Bravo.

Her brows give her face a wonderful balance. And thicker brows are what we should all strive for. Such brows give a woman a more youthful appearance, as we have learned from experts in the business.

Kate appears to have a peaches and cream complexion. And for her long, 3 1/2 minute walk down the aisle of Westminster Abbey, she chose a soft makeup palette in a pinky-rose for cheeks and lips.

We did find out about her manicure, done by Marina Sandoval from the Jo Hansford Salon in Mayfair. Kate settled on "the blush tones of Bourjois's Rose Lounge and Essie's Allure."

How down-to-earth, Kate appears to be. And we think she did her OWN makeup royally!

New Princess Bride Kate Middleton: Lovely In Lace Like Grace Kelly

We LOVE the Sarah Burton by Alexander McQueen royal wedding gown Kate Middleton chose, as she walked down the aisle of Westminster Abbey this morning. And we think she pays homage to the late Grace Kelly in a most beautiful way.

It's lovely in lace all the way. And we can see the copy-cat wedding gowns immediately being fashioned as we write.

Let's face it.....this is one gorgeous bridal gown featuring long, fitted lace sleeves, v-neck style with nipped-in-waist and an elegant lace-trimmed veil. And although Kate's gown has a sleeker silhouette compared to the 1950's Grace Kelly ball gown shape, the similarities are still quite striking.

At age 29, Kate Middleton selected a classic, sophisticated royal wedding gown. This one will be remembered for years and years to come, just like the amazing cream puff, voluminous bridal gown worn by 19-year-old Diana Spencer in her royal wedding to Prince Charles almost 30 years ago.

When a bride marries at Westminster Abbey in a royal ceremony, her arms must be covered, according to what we have learned, because of the requirements of the church C London's Westminster Abbey C and royal protocol.

One other interesting royal bridal tidbit-----we also heard that lovely Kate did her own makeup for the most important day of her life. Now, that's what we call, sheer confidence and a very steady hand.

Congratulations to Kate and William!

Blossoming New Trend For Spring 2011: Rosette Shoes/Sandals

Ladies, everything's coming up roses, or rosettes in this newest hot trend for spring 2011! Floral embellishments are adding a little feminine frou-frou for your princess feet.

And no, you don't have to be going to the Royal Wedding to enjoy slipping into a pair of rosette shoes or rosette sandals. This is a chic trend that will bring a little sophistication to your wardrobe.

We suppose you will either ADORE the rosette shoe trend, or despise it. We happen to LIKE it. There is something very delicate about the fabrication of roses on shoes and sandals. Rosettes appear to give the feet a light, airy look, and signify that spring is indeed here, and warmer, sultrier days are ahead.

From platforms to flip-flops, there's a rosette shoe for everyone and every occasion.

Here are 3 rosettes we found:

1. Guiseppe Zanotti Chiffon Rosette High Heel Sandals ($695, now on sale $486.50, at Bloomingdale's).

2. Nine West 'Qutiepie' Reptile Print Slingback with Rosette ($89, at Nine West.

3. Valentino Rosette T-Strap Sandals ($595, at Nordstrom's, but currently sold out!)

You don't have to spend $hundreds$ and more on a pair of rosette shoes or rosette sandals. Look around----there are some lovely, inexpensive rosettes out there, just waiting to add a little feminine frou-frou to your princess feet.

Hats And More Hats To Invade Royal Wedding: How About A Fedora For You?

With the much-anticipated Royal Wedding just 2 days away now, we thought we'd talk about hats, and the fascination with fascinators, because just about every woman's head will be adorned for the global event.

Here in the states, well, we don't wear hats that often. Sure, some women do LOVE hats. And although we can't force you to don a hat, we can certainly try. Once the Royal Wedding takes place, you can bet that hats and even fascinators, will become the new hot summer trend.

So, here's Hats Off! to Kate and William.

UK women ADORE wearing hats. And the princess-to-be seems to have one for every time she hits the streets. And yes, Kate Middleton never seems to get hat hair. She looks beautiful with something on her brunette head, even wearing a fascinator.

Hmmm. Exactly what is a fascinator?

Well, it's a small, playful headpiece. It is usually fashioned with flowers, tulle, jewels, and most importantly, feathers. Oh yeah....whimsical feathers. And fascinators stay on with combs or clips.

For the Royal Wedding, Kate will probably be donning an heirloom tiara, but her inner circle and invited guests will be hat crazy for the huge event.

Why not get in the mood and put on a hat yourself? Barbara Walters got a red fedora for the huge event, but claims she probably won't be wearing it as she reports outside Westminster Abbey, the site of the royal nuptials.

Speaking of the fedora, it's a beloved hat here in our part of the world, and it's a classic that looks sexy and timeless on every gal. And we've found a great lace fedora that won't cost you more than $11!!

Check this one( photo2) out at BodyCentral. Lace fedora with contrast band. Imported poly/cotton. One size fits most. Cream/black (EC). 4469. $10.80. Very elegant, and super to wear at your Royal Wedding television party!

Even Kate Middleton loves a sexy fedora every once in a while.

We also tossed in a photo of screen legend Sophia Loren in this unforgettable pose. We remember it, because of the enormous, red hat!

Hats certainly bring attention to those who are under them. And we can't wait to see the British hat parade at Friday's Royal Wedding!

How 24CT. Gold Makes Astre A Gem In The Skin Care Business

Is Astre Skin Care worth its weight in gold?

The reason we ask, is because this new line of skin care contains 24ct. gold. You can even see tiny flecks of the gold in its premier product-----the Astre Anti-Aging Skin Matrix Serum with Pure 24CT. Gold.

Now, at $99 a bottle, you might wonder, too, is this anti-aging serum worth the price?

In our honest opinion......Yes. We have had the pleasure of sampling Astre's Anti-Aging Skin Matrix Serum for about 3 weeks now. And we like the luminosity, firmness, and healthy appearance our skin has taken on. We also appreciate the formula's organic aloe vera base, and how the product glides upon the skin and absorbs completely.

We recently spoke with Greg Kelly, the CEO of Astre Skin Care. And he is proud to tell us, that Astre is a skin care line that is natural, without harmful toxins, and scientifically advanced to address the signs of aging. One of the key players succeeding in the anti-aging war is a new anti-wrinkle peptide, called Acetyl Hexapeptide-3.

And he claims that his beauty business competitors are filling up their skin care jars and bottles with some other nasty stuff, and then nailing women with some hefty price tags.

"Alot of the high end serums contain acetyl hexapeptide which is a very expensive and effective ingredient. The main difference is that we have taken out all the cheap toxins that permeate the cosmetic industry. The profit margins from the $800 bottles are huge. Our basic premise is to make a quality high end product available to women who want quality without paying crazy prices. Most companies use cheap fillers to add weight to their products...we dont. Our 1 oz. bottles are pure and natural...what you see is what you get."

And the 24ct. gold is definitely in the Astre Anti-Aging Skin Matrix Serum for a reason, according to Greg.

"Gold really is a miracle element for skin, that is why people pay so much for these high end gold masks. Primarily, gold tricks the skin into producing collagen, which we all know is critical in preventing sagging skin. We only use pure 24ct gold...the highest quality. Recent studies show that gold pulls toxins from the skin which of course leaves skin clean and pure at the basal layer."

Maybe that's why the Skin Matrix Serum is the company's most popular product. Greg says the response has been incredible. And even with their free return policy, not one bottle has been sent back for a refund, thus far.

You get a lot in a 1 oz. bottle of Astre's Anti-Aging Skin Matrix Serum. And a little goes a long way, for the face and neck. The other active ingredient present is Hyaluronic Acid. And this powerful humectant gives back the fullness, suppleness and youthfulness to skin.

Achieving great skin is really an investment. It is something we can all have, if we work hard at it and take the time to try some superb skin care products.

For more details, visit the Astre Skin Care company.

Not Wearing Sunscreen Daily? Then You're A Dodo!

Rain or shine......You should be using sun protection.

Remember: Sunscreen isn't just for the beach.

It isn't even summer yet, so why are we even discussing the benefits of wearing sunscreen?!

We caught an article at today's Huffington Post about malignant melanoma, and it was a scary read. It was written by NYC plastic surgeon Robert Tornambe, M.D..

Skin Cancer. Of all the kinds out there, it is the most common form of cancer. And take a look at these stats from Dr. Tornambe:

.."Melanoma is responsible for nearly all of the deaths from skin cancer. It is the most common form of cancer found in people 25 to 29 years old. According to the American Cancer Society, there were 68,000 new cases of melanoma reported and 8700 deaths in 2009. Experts expect to diagnose more than 100,000 new cases this year.".

How do we develop melanoma?

"The primary culprit causing melanoma is UV light from the sun or tanning beds," he explains. "Research shows indoor tanning increases a person's melanoma risk by 75 percent! Anyone can get melanoma, but there is a higher incidence in people with fair skin, sun-sensitive skin (tends to burn rather than tan) and a family history of the disease. Five or more sunburns during your lifetime double your risk of developing skin cancer. 80 percent of lifetime sun damage occurs during childhood."

The best defense----sunscreen. And we LOVE this scientifically advanced product----Sunforgettable by Colorscience.

Sunforgettable is a really unique beauty product. It's a mineral-based powder sunscreen. The ingredients contain immediate 8 hour, waterproof protection. And it's a powder base. No more greasies.
And it comes in 3 shades: Perfectly Clear. All Clear. Almost Clear. Application is easy, too. You can put it on with a brush applicator, a roll-on, or a shaker.

By the way, If you wear a liquid foundation, then apply Sunforgettable ON TOP of your foundation. If you only use powder for your makeup, then Sunforgettable should go first.

We found some Sunforgettable here at SkinCareRX.com for $49.50. And the product is pretty amazing if fair-skinned actresses Cameron Diaz and Anne Heche swear by Sunforgettable.

Kate Middleton:Weight Loss Becomes Main Media Focus As Royal Wedding Nears

Poor princess-to-be, Kate Middleton, can't catch a bloody break. With the royal wedding just 8 days away, the media pressure is mounting to incredible heights.

Brideorexia. That's the newest label being pinned to the 29-year-old British beauty who has captured the eye and heartof Prince William.

Can you believe some of the nasty things being hurled her way:
1. Kate Middleton is wasting away. Looks skeletal.
2. Gone from a size 6 down to a sickly size 2.
3. Kate has 'brideorexia.'
4. She's so thin, her dresses just hang on her now.
5. Her face has become too gaunt---her chin is jutting out.

Really now. Even the Irish Times newspaper penned a column on Monday, criticizing the princess-to-be as being TOO skinny as size 6:

....."But Kate’s too thin, that’s the problem. I’m worried about the wedding dress. She was thin enough in the engagement dress. Then last week she appeared in a blue suit, gaunt. Her lovely knees knocking. Her beautiful face haggard. Is this the way the fairy tale ends – at a size six? Here is the wedding of the year or perhaps of the decade. Here is the happily ever after. And here is the message going out to young women everywhere: once you’ve found prince charming you can give up food forever.
This is serious stuff. Kate Middleton is a model of modern femininity. She seems like a nice girl – although she’s an adult and 30 next January. She appears conscientious, dutiful and beautiful – and she is shrinking before our very eyes. Just as her late mother-in-law did before her wedding 30 years ago...."

So...exactly how tiny has Kate Middleton become?

We're not sure. The tabloids claim she stands 5' 11" like the late Princess Diana. But those who went to school with Kate, claim she is not as tall, maybe around 5' 8".

Some reports say that the princess-to-be was a size 6 up until a few months ago, and has quickly shrunk down to a size 2, which would be very thin for such a long frame.

Other British news articles, claim that Kate Middleton has been on the Dukan diet, which favors eliminating simple carbs like sugars and starches from your diet. Instead, you indulge in low-fat, protein-rich foods, with the promise that you can jump-start weight loss and maintain it for the rest of your life.

Yesterday, the princess-in-waiting did a little shopping in London to add a few more pieces to her honeymoon wardrobe.

We can't imagine the insane amount of pressure Kate Middleton must feel, as the eyes of the world await the wedding of the century. So, to the prying media, "Leave Kate alone!"

Would You Undergo Laser Surgery To Stop Chronic Underarm Sweating?

Sweating is normal. That's how we cool down our bodies. But when your sweat glands are out of control, that's called hyperhidrosis. And now there's a newer, quicker way to stop excessive underarm sweating.

It's called, Axilase, a $3,000 procedure involving a laser that actually destroys the sweat glands. And it works, but would you try it?

So far, there is only one doctor located in New Jersey who is zapping folks' sweat glands, to cure this embarrassing condition of constant wet armpits.

Dr. Mitchell Chasin of Bridgewater has performed the minor surgery on 20 patients thus far. And says it is even better than Botox injections.

"It's performed in an office setting, takes about an hour to an hour and a half to perform. Patients are treated with local aesthetic, leave the office feeling perfectly well," Dr. Chasin told 'Good Morning America.', earlier today.

"With Botox, they're always wondering, you know, when is it going to wear off. Now we have an effective treatment that can be performed with minimal downtime," he added.

Destroying the sweat glands sounds wrong to us. But then again, if you have tried everything else, except surgery, and you're still sweating like crazy, then a few thousand dollars to stop sweating for good, might be your answer.

The laser procedure is safe, you're awake during the procedure, and you only need about 1-2 days of downtime.

Learn more about Axilase at Dr. Chasin's website.

Kardashian Girls All Get Waxed: Veet Has New Wax Strips For Face

We remember reading that reality star Kim Kardashian and her sisters all get waxed from head-to toe. And that mom Kris Jenner began this beauty ritual when her daughters were young, taking the girls to their waxing appointments.

Certainly, if you have dark hair, you might need a little more help in the hair removal department, than most. And if you are Mediterranean, like the lovely K. sisters, then you know what we mean.

Now comes Veet to the rescue! The well-known hair removal pros have been advertising a new product----Veet Ready To Use Wax Strips for the Face. No prep-time....the strips are ready to use, right out of the box.

Let's be honest. Women don't like talking about a few stray hairs in places they shouldn't be, and this product aims to zap them instantly. So, if you can't afford a big waxing procedure like the Kardashian sisters undertake, you can try this one in the privacy of your home.

According to the folks at Veet, their Ready To Use Wax Strips for the Face really work, because of these reasons:

VEET® has specially formulated these wax strips to act like a liquid during application, coating different lengths of hair, even those as short as 2mm.
When you remove the strip, the wax locks the hair – for effective hair removal.
Suitable for delicate body areas like the upper lip, chin, and eyebrow.
VEET® can give you perfectly smooth skin for weeks longer than shaving. The result is smoothness that lasts up to 4 weeks!

There are 20 face wax strips in a box. And the formula doesn't stink, either. Veet allows you to smell like a bouquet of roses. Pick up a box at drugstores or at drugstore.com, for just $4.99.

O.J. Prosecutor Marcia Clark Looks Younger Than Ever At 57

Who could forget Marcia Clark, the lead prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson trial?!

Let's turn the clock back.....that was 16 years ago. We were all glued to our TVs watching the trial of the century, and examining every movement made by the then 41-year-old Clark--- from her courtroom clothing to her makeup choices, and short, curly do.

This morning, Marica Clark made an appearance on Good Morning America to debut her new book, a murder mystery, "Guilt by Association" (Mulholland Books/Little, Brown; pub date April 20; $25.99). And we can't believe how young this woman looks. Amazing!

We would not know that the woman with the brunette sleek bob and high, full cheekbones were the same Marcia Clark during the 9-month O.J. Simpson trial. The new Marcia is now 57. Check out the BEFORE + AFTER photos. We were pretty blown away.

So---does that mean the retired L.A. prosecutor has had either a super plastic surgeon or excellent dermatologist??

We can't say for sure, but Marcia Clark is doing something right.

We suspect that the pretty attorney-turned author is receiving filler, meaning, cosmetic injections like Restylane or Juvederm. These fillers act like plumpers, adding nice fullness and contours to the facial features.

Was there any previous plastic surgery done? Who knows. It's possible. But meantime, she looks darn good. She was toying around with light blonde locks, about a year ago. We are happy to see her return to her natural , dark brunette hair. Her skin looks smooth and youthful.

It just goes to show, that women in their 50s and beyond, can maintain an ageless appearance. And Marcia Clark is proof of that. A little Botox and a few shots of filler CAN make a big difference.

Injectables Like Botox And Restylane Create New Reality Show In May

If you're afraid of needles, then DON'T tune into a new reality show debuting Monday, May 9th at 10/9C on the Logo channel.

It's appropriately called, 'Pretty Hurts.' And the program will give you an amazing behind-the-scenes look at all the cosmetic enhancement doings in Beverly Hills. You will meet 'injector to the stars', Rush Rand. And you will see an interesting collection of patients flock to his skin care office.

Famous folks like Janice Dickinson, the former model-turned reality star, are looking for the quick beauty fix. And shots of fillers like Botox, Restylane, collagen, Juvederm, and so forth, provide an instant rejuvenation, without having to go under the knife.

Yes....you will hear and watch Janice get jabbed and stung by numerous needle shots in the first episode, and you will 'feel her pain.' And yet, she keeps coming back for more. As Janice requests...."Pour it in there. Overblast me."

By the way, Supermodel Janice Dickinson said this in 2008:

"Believe me, I’m a 900-year-old dinosaur and without 14 inches of make-up and 32 pounds of fake weave I wouldn’t look the way I do. I want to be the best-looking corpse there is. I’m honest about it; I haven’t got a problem with it. I borrow bits from everyone. Every six months I fly to Dallas to get Botox and I also get collagen injections. I’m addicted to cosmetic surgery."

So, is there anything bad about getting injectables several times a year?

No, if done sensibly, we suppose. The real danger comes when a patient gets TOO much filler and the face looks too inflated. That's called pillow face. And let's not even talk about the too inflated lips.

Take a look at two photos of Janice Dickinson. The top photo shows the model at London Fashion week this past February. And the bottom photo is a snap of her in 2008.

Has Janice Dickinson over-dosed on injectables?! Or is the top photo just a bad shot of her?

People's 'Most Beautiful' JLo: And Her Makeup Artist's Beauty Tip

People Magazine's 'Most Beautiful Woman' cover girl Jennifer Lopez is the most buzzed about girl on the planet these days.

Even host Ryan Seacrest was teasing JLo at last night's American Idol show about her recently crowned beauty status
.
We're pleased to see that the mag didn't choose a 20-something starlet as the most beautiful woman. At age 41, Jennifer Lopez proves that great bone structure along with a balanced lifestyle, including a sound diet and exercise plan, can do you good for decades.

Of course, the Latin beauty and mom of toddler twins, has a super makeup artist in Scott Barnes. He even chose her as his cover girl for his excellent makeup book, 'About Face.'
.
And if you take a look at JLo, you'll be drawn to those amazing high cheekbones. That is where the beauty magic zeros in. It's all about the bronzer. And this is what she said at his book party last year:
"Stay out of the sun! He really nailed into my head. Bronzer and self-tanners are so worth it. Stay out of the booth, girls! And boys!" Jennifer said. "He’s taught me so much about contouring… what should be highlighted and what should be left alone."

Scott Barnes loves to use bronzer and highlighter. And here is his great JLo bronzer beauty tip:

"In general, I try to abide by a less-is-more mentality: You can always layer more on but it’s harder to take it off. It’s really all in the approach, though. I always see women applying powders and bronzers starting next to their nose. But the trick is to work from the outside of the face inward, rather than the other way around. This creates a halo effect and leaves a diamond shape of light in the center so your face appears a little more open. This will hide double chins and give you a visible bone structure so you don’t wind up looking old. Also, use a bronzing brush to blend allover rather than applying product directly to problem areas like crow’s feet and laugh lines. And don’t forget to do your neck and décolletage."

Scott Barnes has his own makeup line of bronzers for face and body

Listen To Beauty Voice Of Reason: Why You Should Wear Brown Eye Shadow

Brown eye shadow.

It might seem like a boring neutral to some, but when it comes to a daytime beauty look, you should be wearing brown eye shadow.

Shadows lend definition to the eyes and draw attention to them. Add a little mascara, and you're good to go.

Why brown?

Because it's lovely on every eye shade and skin tone. It's a classic that isn't loud or gimmicky.

We learned from the model of all models, Cindy Crawford, that brown is a GOOD thing:

She says that, brown is your best friend. "It's less harsh than black, it goes with everything, and it's impossible to mess up. For day, I do variations of brown shadow, either matte or shimmer."

And we've got an inexpensive brown to get you there:

Revlon's Rich Sable (matte 009), just $4 at Walmart. So many women adore this brown shadow It gets high marks all the time. And we can see why. It's a soft, suede-like powder that lasts and lasts. And the color is so rich.

When you're running out the door, just take the time to do a couple of brown shadow sweeps across your lids. And you will see, that brown, DOES make a difference.

Classic Aviator Sunglasses Still Favored By Celebrities In 2011

Ladies, if there's one hot celebrity trend you want to copy in spring/summer 2011, then pick up a pair of aviator sunglasses. It's a classic lens shape that is always in style, and always looks polished. And you don't have to ruin your beauty budget doing it, either.

Stars like Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, and Vanessa Hudgens, are just a few of the Hollywood hotties we spied wearing the aviator in 2011.

Want Sexy Kardashian Eyes? Don't Forget About Your Bottom Lashes

Nothing spells sexy like lashes laced with mascara.

And if you're trying to create a super sexy eye like Kim Kardashian's signature look, then here's an important beauty tip to remember: Don't forget about your bottom lashes.

Take a look at this photo of the sultry reality television star, and notice her bottom lashes. They seem to go on forever.

We've read that Kim often wears false lashes for red carpet events and has a professional makeup artist carefully applying the faux lashes. If you desire those amazing Kardashian eyes but DON'T want to put on the fakes, you can still achieve her look, with lots of black mascara.

And there are so many mascaras out there. Of course, the big Hollywood cult-fave is Dior's Diorshow in black.

Dior has just taken their great mascara one step further by introducing their own new battery-operated rotating brush in Diorshow 360 Mascara ($36, at dior.com). This new formula and beauty gadget creates more curl, length, and volume for lashes.

Kim K., herself, has often given mascara tutorials at her website:
..."Putting on mascara completes the look. I recently started to use M.A.C. Zoom mascara -- which is amazing! I take my time and put coat after coat. I love to layer mascaras so I will probably start with the M.A.C. Zoom and then put Lancome Hypnose on top.I always use a separater brush to separate my lashes. I am completely clueless on how to put false lashes on, so I only wear them for photo shoots sometimes."

By the way, curling lashes BEFORE applying mascara, is key for sexy eye fringe. Just doing that one small step, opens up the eyes dramatically.

Kevin Aucoin's makeup experts gave this special beauty secret for curling the bottom eyelashes:

"Turn (curler) upside down and curl bottom lashes downward. Trick of old movie stars from the 30's and 40's."

Okay, we have not quite mastered that final step. It's harder than it sounds. Perform at your own risk, ha ha.

Revlon Beauty Tip From Britain's Dame Helen Mirren

Many fans call movie actress Helen Mirren an ageless beauty. And at 65-years-young, we can see why.

So, we then ask you, dear readers, is it possible to learn any valuable beauty tips from a sexy senior citizen?!

We say, of course!

Helen Mirren has been admired for a long time, and not just for her acting pedigree. The British beauty has been applauded for aging gracefully in a cruel cinematic world, where mainly youth seems to define a woman's acting ability. You hit age 50, and suddenly, the great roles disappear.

But not for Helen Mirren. Last night, the Academy award winner graced the red carpet with her Brit co-star Russell Brand for their NYC movie premier, 'Arthur.'

Helen Mirren always appears to strike the right note with elegance and polished makeup.

And her beauty tip: "I just discovered....Revlon Just Bitten lip stain. It looks fabulous, especially if you get a natural color, and it lasts forever.".

Nice tip, Helen. And for $8.99, you get kiss-proof color that stays on for hours!

Coconut water has been a super hot healthy trend these days, and the thirst for body-good products continues. Just google 'coconut water,', and you will find page after page of companies selling it, as well as lots of information on its alleged numerous benefits.

Lots of celebrities have hopped on the coconut water bandwagon, including actress Rachel Bilson. She recently told InStyle magazine that she enjoys only this particular coconut H2O:

Body Ecology Organic Raw coconut water sells for $11/32 0z. at bodyecology.com.

So, you ask----What's so great about coconut water, in general? It's isn't cheap, so folks expect it better be a superior beverage.

We've learned that coconut water is supposed to be one of the best known fluids for re-hydrating the body. And according to naturalhealthlifestyles.com, it doesn't come from the coconuts we're used to enjoying:

"Coconut water is the liquid found inside young green coconuts. Not to be confused with coconuts you see in the grocery store i.e.—the brown, hairy kind."

Aha! We didn't know that. In addition, the article goes on to mention some really wonderful things about this most pure water:

"The water of a single coconut contains enough vitamin C to meet the daily requirements of the body. It also contains several vitamins in the B group, such as niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, riboflavin, folic acid, and thiamin."

Why You Need +Repelle Salon Shield For At-Home Hair Color

If you've ever done at-home hair color, then you know what those ugly stains look like following the dyeing process.

Especially if you're just touching up roots by the ears and temple. And then you miss, and you've got a dark stain on your neck, even eyebrows, etc.

A friend told us about a great and gentle product called +Repelle. And what it does in its lip balm-type applicator is, "create an invisible barrier to protect skin from hair chemical stains, plus it contains Pretectin-22™ to ionically-repel many hair chemicals."

And +Repelle performs this color stain shield beautifully and keeps skin clean and soft. In addition---it's perfect for all hair and skin types, and according to the company, it's easy to use:

"Before applying hair chemicals, apply +Repelle™ as needed to skin along the hairline, neck, ears, sideburns, or eyebrows. Avoid getting product on hair. After hair treatment, wipe off dye excess and +Repelle as needed, leaving skin clean and moisturized."

We found some at Rite-Aid, and you can also pick it up at the Rite-Aid website, for $5.99.

Let's be honest, if you do any kind of at-home hair color or root touch-up, it can usually spell a messy affair. Application can be tricky, and even the pros slip up once in a while. If you hate the nasty color splotches left behind, +Repelle does a super job of keeping you clean and hair color stain-free. So it's worth a tube.

How To Get In Shape With Bare Feet And Beamfit

What if we told you, that all you need are your bare feet and a beam to get you in total shape. Would you believe us?

We dare you to : Balance. Engage. Align. And Move.

It's an amazing fitness product and program created by David Mesirow, an exercise expert. And it's called, Beamfit. And television's Martha Stewart and her crew are big beaming fans.
The beam measures 5 ft. in length and 6 in. in width. And the beam is lightweight and made of a nice, 'cushy' foam. Plus, you can tote it anywhere.

It's all about barefoot training, but as Beamfit president David Mesirow says, "This is not just a step on a beam."

And we believe, David, because we've been trying out Beamfit. And the unassuming piece of fitness equipment is so much more. You learn to listen to the inner you, and you learn to respect your core, while engaging in the fusion of Yoga and Pilates philosophies. You then find out, that simply putting one foot in front of the other, is more than just a matter of movement, David explains.

"The fact that no one has worked on a Beam before ( in the way we do at Beamfit) levels the playing field. Young, old, Fit, Fat , athlete or amature, EVERYONE has the same 1st experience because people have not worked on balance training in this way before. I have had skiers, tri-athletes, marathon runners, body builders , football and baseball players on the Beam as well as kids and 80 year olds. ALL experience the same thing YOU DID in the same way. The beauty is that EVERYONE is "learning" about their own strengths and weaknesses as well as imbalances at the same time in a class, yet it is a uniquely personal experience for each individual - thus the BEAM becomes a self awareness tool as well as a personal traininer who is constantly correcting your every move."

So, let's say we have about 20 lbs to lose. How does Beamfit help us reach our goal along with a diet?

1. YES you can burn calories while BEAMING so there is weight loss benefit. 2. More importantly, Beaming will teach a person how to better balance the weight of their body across the skeletal structure to reduce the propensity of pain (low back, hip, knee, ank etc.) When the weight is evenly distributed, there is minimal pressure on one joint or vertebra thus reducing "problems." 3.Another advantage to the woman who is over- weight and attempting to reduce, is the fact that when she improves her balance and posture, she will improve her "presence" - standing TALLER and with more confidence - this is also slimming!!! Stand TALL, engage your core, and walk with confidence = she is appearing SLIMMER and is "SLAMMIN"!! Add better fitting clothes, hair and mak- up and she looks BETTER as she is losing the weight......and if she only loses 12 of the 20 - it will appear as if she lost more.

Beamfit really makes sense, and David Mesirow is so right, in that this uncomplicated-looking piece of fitness equipment forces you to get in touch with your inner perspective. You are more aware of how you take each step. It's all about mind and body
.
And we love being in our bare feet. It feels so natural to work-out this way. You can Beamfit alone, in the privacy of your home, or you can take classes that use the Beamfit philosophy. You can add weights and aerobics, and so much more.

And yes, you'll even walker a lot taller and with more confidence. Beamfit is a solid piece of fitness equipment.

David has an excellent Beamfit website. Check it out here.
