New One-A-Day Diet Pill Debuts: FDA Gives Green Light

If you've been trying so hard to lose weight and are considering lap band or some other kind of bariatric surgery, please try this first!

The Food & Drug Administration has okayed the first prescription diet pill in 13 years. It's called Belviq and will melt away lbs. by a healthy 10% in one year! No word yet, on what this pill would cost.

Belviq works by blocking your food cravings, and the beauty of this oral diet plan is in its sheer simplicity:

Take one-pill-a-day. Period.

What could be easier?!

This is major diet breaking news! Good Morning America made the announcement earlier today, with ABC's Dr. Richard Besser. He said that Belviq isn't a 'magic bullet' for weight loss, but it is another solution for those who are obese and/or for those also suffering from medical problems like high blood pressure and diabetes.

A couple of possible side effects include headache and fatigue. Studies on the heart will be conducted soon.

We found this nugget from WJLA.com:

..."In a rare move, the FDA explicitly stated in a press release that Belviq "does not appear to activate" a chemical pathway that was linked to the heart problems seen with fen-phen.

The FDA said the drug acts on a different chemical pathway in the brain, which is believed to reduce appetite by boosting feelings of satiety and fullness."

If you are an emotional eater, then the new Belviq diet pill would not be effective for you, says Dr. Besser.
