Chin Implants Can Make A Big Difference In Facial Balance: Did She Or Didn't She?

There's been lots of chatter about celebrity chin implants, ever since reality star Bristol Palin showed up at a red carpet event with a new, sleek, sculpted chin. The daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has recently admitted, that she, in fact, had surgery, but not the plastic kind.

Bristol Palin says she had jaw surgeryto repair misalignment with her teeth. Read yesterday's BeautyTipToday article below, for the complete story.

Plastic surgery experts are also putting in their two cents, and claim the pretty, 20-year-old mom of 2-year-old Tripp had cosmetic work done, including a chin implant.

So, let's look at this popular procedure that is actually a simple and safe surgery, and can really make a difference in facial balance. Chelsea Clinton appears to have also had chin implant surgery a few years ago. But we cannot confirm or prove this. But we will say, that both Chelsea and Britsol look great with their 'alleged' chin implants.

We did a little research and found an expert, Dr. David Mabrie in San Francisco. We learned that chin implant surgery takes place in a hospital setting, and takes between 1 hour and 1 1/2 hours to do.

After deciding by computer imaging what size implant to use to bring better harmony to one's facial features, the process is straightforward:

"Dr. Mabrie performs chin augmentation with a small incision under the chin instead of using an incision inside the mouth because it decreases the risk of infection. The implant is placed and secured with a few stitches."

And he outlines the recovery process below:

Chin Augmentation Recovery.
Bandages: 2-4 days
Suture Removal: 5-7 days
Restaurant Ready*: 7-10 days
75%: 3-4 weeks
100%: 2-3 months
(*Restaurant ready means you are ready to debut the new you!)

Keep Your (New)Chin Up, Bristol: You Look Amazing

Okay....if you haven't heard about or seen the new Bristol Palin, watch out! We're not sure you'd even recognize her right away.

Ever since the reality star and daughter to former Gov. Sarah Palin stepped out recently at a red carpet event, tongues began wagging, and haven't stopped since. There was talk about Bristol dropping a significant amount of weight, and getting a darker, new hair color with most likely, hair extensions. But it was much more than that.

It was her sculpted chin. Gone was the pretty, round-faced, full-cheeked gal, and here arrived a more glamorous, well-defined set of features on a mature young woman.

So, come to find out....it WAS more than a makeup, hair color make-over. Bristol Palin admits, it was surgery. And experts are claiming it was plastic surgery:

"I had corrective jaw surgery," Palin told Us Weekly. "Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons ... so my jaw and my teeth could properly realign ... I don't obsess over my face."

Bristol is only 20-years-old. Should that make a difference? And exactly what does corrective jaw surgerymean? Did she really have a chin implant, a nose job, brow lift, or mini facelift, too?

Who's to say. Bristol Palin will be starring in her own forthcoming reality show alongside her Dancing with the Stars friend, Kyle Massey on the Bio channel. And 2-year-old son, Tripp will also share the TV spotlight.

The question begs-----Was Bristol Palin advised to drop lbs. and get some plastic surgery BEFORE getting her new reality show? Or did she, herself, feel the pressure that so many young women like Bristol feel, in measuring up to Hollywood standards?

We think Bristol Palin was pretty BEFORE the surgery. But we also think she looks amazing AFTER the surgery. And if her round face and chubby cheeks really bothered her before, then we can understand her desire for a self-esteem boost.

How To Get High Rosy Celebrity Cheekbones With Rose de Rose Highlighter

Ladies....are you envious of those high, seemingly perfect cheekbones with the seemingly perfect blushing glow on celebrity after celebrity? Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Kim Kardashian, Kate Bosworth, Penelope Cruz......

Sure, most Hollywood beauties invest in an incredible makeup artist, but there are tricks and technqiues that you can follow, too, for that red carpet luminosity.

So, let's take a look at one, little beauty product that might cost a bit more than the rest, but that promises to give you a flush, like no other.

We are talking about a highlighter from makeup 'By Terry.' The artist, Terry de Gunzberg, once worked for Yves St. Laurent in makeup design. And what we adore about her cosmetics line is the concept of bringing out the luminosity of the skin. That's where her 'magic' highlighter comes into play. The product that will give you those rosy, plump cheeks is called, By Terry Rose de Rose Sheer Liquid Highlighter ($54, at barneys.com. It's available in Amber Rose, Fresh, and Coral.

The texture of this liquid highlighter is amazing. It's a micro-gel formula that smooths your complexion and adds a wonderful luminous flush.

Simply, apply the rosy highlighter to cheekbones, and then add your own blush to the apples of your cheeks. And you WILL see a captivating warmth and definition to your bone structure.

It isn't always easy trying to imitate the brilliant work of a professional makeup artist, but when it comes to blush, that is one beauty product that adds instant warmth and depth to the face, even when you are keeping your makeup to the minimum.

Don't be afraid of putting on highlighter/blush. Every woman looks lovely wearing some.

Beauty Tip Today: Lovely Lace Cami----2 for Just $12!

Here's our Beauty Tip Today 'Deal of the Day'------a lovely lace cami, just $7.80 for one, or 2 for just $12!

We found these comfy cotton/spandex, lace-edged camisoles from Wet Seal in a rainbow of pretty colors, along in some neutral shades, too.

A cotton camisole is a beautiful basic and you should have a few in your wardobe.

Why?

That's easy. It's a super, layering piece. You can wear it under a blazer, under a sweater, as a top alone, or even to sleep in. And anything with lace is really hot this season, and adds a bit of femininity to your style. More importantly....you CAN'T beat this price. We paid close to $40 a few months ago, for a lace-trimmed cami, and it wasn't half as cute as Wet Seal's.

We like these Big Lace Camis from Wet Seal, because they aren't too short, but actually fit like a tunic and cover the butt. The camis also come with adjustable straps and measure 30" from shoulder to hemline. Length may vary by size.

Check them out here.

Just a reminder----Wet Seal runs in junior sizes. But these cute, lace camis come in S, M, L, and XL. So be sure to go up a size if you wear a Misses.

From Head To Toe: Women Want To Know What Princess Kate Is Wearing

Poor Kate Middleton. The newlywed Princess-to-be can't even go grocery shopping without a ton of cameras focused on her every move and every outfit she puts on.

From head to toe, women are dying to know what she's wearing, and more importantly, 'who' she's wearing.

And at the moment, it's all about Kate's princess feet.

Kate Middleton adores ballet flats, and was photographed in a cute pair by London Sole Shoes, while out buying food and staples on Wednesday.

These brown croc patent ballet flats cost $165, and are in the Pirouette style.

Kate also fancies the Henrietta ballet flats, which you can check out at luxe London Sole.

Princess Kate is keeping her daytime look right------simple and sleek, and apparently, taking a page right out of the supermodel Cindy Crawford handbook:

1. Jeans 'that make your butt look good,'
2. And Ballet Flats. Stylish and comfortable, and these classic shoes go with everything, Cindy
says.

By the way, we have learned that the late Princess Diana was also a frequent shopper at London Sole. Kate is following in some very stylish footsteps.
