Get Amal Clooney's Gorgeous Red Carpet Goddess Gown For So Much Less--$159!

Okay, so you DON'T have to wear the white opera gloves.....But we LIKED Amal Clooney's first red carpet appearance at Sunday evening's Golden Globes awards show in L.A..

And now you, too, can COPY Amal's expensive, Dior Couture goddess gown for only $159 from David's Bridal.

Why spend thousands$$$ when you can get a decent knock-off for so much less?!

Let's take a look at the striking, human rights lawyer and recently married Mrs. Clooney.

We would have preferred the gloves were in black and + form-fitting. But otherwise, the gloves as part of the ensemble are fine by us, and if Amal were going for old Hollywood glam, we think she nailed it nicely.

At David's Bridal, we found 2 black, one-shoulder gowns to choose from--each one at an affordable $159. One has the sari effect Amal is displaying here. The other gown, minus the long sash. Either way, the look is simple + chic--classic,

One-Shoulder Long Jersey Dress with Cascade Back.

Long On-Shoulder Jersey Gown

We think the gown without the sari (photo2) looks more like Amal's dress if it didn't have the sash (sari).

We look forward to more Amal style in the upcoming awards shows!

Audrina Patridge Dyes Hair Champagne/Violet Combo For the Hollywood Purple Pastel Crowd

If you're under age 35 and absolutely LOVE brightly colored hair, then go ahead! DYE your locks just like the IT girls in Hollywood.

The latest lovely to join the purple parade, includes Audrina Patridge. The former "The Hills" reality star went to a hair pro to get this enviable shade of #champagnesilver” and “#dustyviolet combo, as she showed us all on Instagram.

Looks great! And Audrina is calling this, "My 2015 Hair Makeover." She has a blog that explains it all in detail.

For pastel shades to look decent on you, you must have light hair to begin with. Otherwise, you will have to make a few beauty shop visits to get it like Audrina's.

Kelly Osbourne + Nicole Richie are still leading the way for their purple-haired sisters.

If you wish to do a 2015 purple hair makeover, then it would be BEST to head to the pros.

Or you can try color without commitment, like Manic Panic temp colors that WASH out.

Looks like lilac, lavender, violet and other similar purple pastels remain trendy for 2015.

Would you try this pastel shade of purple?

Golden Globes Winner Julianne Moore Wears L'Oreal's New Age Perfect Cell Renewal Cream

Congratulations, Julianne Moore!

The beautiful redhead is beaming with pride today, after having won a Golden Globe award last night for her poignant portrayal of a 50-year-old linguistics professor with early onset Alzheimer's in the movie, "Still Alice."

Gutsy performance by a great actress. And at age 54 and looking so gorg, we wonder how Julianne keeps it together. Her complexion alone, appears quite luminous.

Maybe this new product is key to her warm glow:

L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Cream ($21.24, on SALE at ULTA).

Yes, Julianne Moore is an ambassador for the major beauty company, but we believe she has tried this product.

So, what's Age Perfect Cell Renewal Cream all about?

It helps skin get smoother, more radiant + brighter with increased firming.

Plus it has an SPF 15 sunscreen, which can only help.

To Use:
Every morning, smooth gently over the face, neck and upper chest until thoroughly absorbed. Use alone or under makeup daily. For best results, use this product in conjunction with Age Perfect Cell Renewal Serum and Night Cream in your skincare regimen.

L'Oreal claims that in one month, your skin's surface will appear renewed, firmer, more dense + full of life.

Sounds pretty promising and worth the price to try it out,

Lipstick Etiquette: Rihanna Doesn't Play By the Rules

Re-applying lipstick in public.....Hmmm....That can be a tricky thing to do.

The etiquette experts say that you should play around with your makeup in private, but Rihanna doesn't play by ANYONE's rules, and maybe that's why we love her even more.

Not that the superstar committed a crime, but there she was Friday night at Jay Z's 2015 Throne Boxing Fight Night in New York, in the middle of  a big crowd, in the middle of a big boxing match, and she whips out her tube + compact. And the shade is in bright, bold red. LOL

We love her makeup look, by the way...Gorgeous cool, simple cat-eye + bold, red lip. Nothing over-done . Quite elegant.

And Emily Post, the grand dame of etiquette, would be applauding Rihanna for the quick lipstick re-apply in public BUT---only if it's done WITHOUT the compact, done very fast and done in the company of a small table of friends:

"In general, personal grooming should be done in private for the simple reason that it can be annoying and it's tacky. ... When in doubt, don't do it, such as when you're at a business meal or with people you don't know very well."

Oh, No---Daria! Supermodel Brings Back Hairy Armpit Look

Okay.....This is what supermodel Daria Werbowy usually looks like when she's modeling before the camera.

Classic, polished + elegant. Plus, 31-year-old Daria is the new face for Celine Resort 2015.

And now here is Daria, again a few days ago, showing the world her natural look---hairy armpits included, on photographer Cass Bird's Instagram page.

No...this isn't anything new. Plenty of big-name celebs have showed us their hairy armpits before. Here are a few of them, in case you have forgotten:

Oh, Sophia Loren! Not you, too?!

We know how we feel about armpit hair. Personally we despise it showing. We SHAVE it off every day even when we are too lazy or tired to lift a shaver.

Is this now fashionable, again? Or is it a feminist thing, again?

Some men are turned on by women with hairy armpits...and some women are, too.

How do you feel about it?

Are hairy armpits alright or just plain gross?

Cold, Winter Air Means Thick, Nourishing Eye Cream At Night

We have OILY skin, and even for us....that all changes quickly when snow, ice + bitter wind chills begin to appear. We live in the northeast by the way. Lows tonight expected around 10 degrees.

Lately our skin care routine has hovered around 4 simple steps:

1. Cleansing AM--Glycolic Acid soap bar
2. Daytime treatment--Vitamin C serum
3. Cleansing PM--Ivory soap
4. Nighttime treatment--Retin-A (prescription)

Now that beauty routine looks tame enough, but since winter has arrived, we have noticed dry, scratchy, irritated eyes. The most likely culprits---too much retin-A and then too much Vit. C.

Even though these potent treatments are used at opposite times of the day, minor side effects can occur. Also---the harsh elements are causing the skin discomfort. Tight, red, itchy skin are COMMON during these weather conditions

So----a nice, thick hyaluronic eye cream at nighttime can CALM things down. But we will NOT use Retin-A around eyes when using hyaluronic acid.

One suggestion we have that is effective + fairly inexpensive

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream ($18, at ULTA).

How does this stuff work?

"Hyaluronic Acid formula helps lock in the skin's own natural moisture without the use of heavy, greasy oils. Absorbent, medium weight cream for use day or night. Aloe based formula makes this cream suitable for all skin types, even sensitive."

So when applying an eye cream, remember NOT to go too close to the lashes, but do put some on the eyelid, too. And go around the orbital bone as diagrammed here.

Winter has ONLY just begun for us. Hang in there.

Mockingjay's Jennifer Lawrence Keeps Eye Makeup Put With Cool Aqua Seal

When it comes to the red carpet, Mockingjay star Jennifer Lawrence ALWAYS looks chic + polished and usually ends up on the Best Dressed lists.

And as far as her red carpet makeup looks, Katniss, again, appears flawless.

So----how do you keep your eyeliner + eye shadow from heading south + smudging up?

Do what JLaw does. Her makeup artist Ve Neill uses Makeup Forever Aqua Seal ($21, at Sephora).

Aqua Seal is a liquid converter that "transforms powder formulas and pencils into smudge-proof, long lasting makeup.".

In other words your makeup INSTANTLY turns water-proof. Aqua Seal's ..."lightweight, liquid texture intensifies pigments and shimmer for a dramatic, long lasting result."

Eye makeup STAYS Put!

This is how Artist Neill uses the product for Jennifer:

He mixes Aqua Seal with her eye pencil. Its' that simple.

-Mix a few drops of Aqua Seal with product and apply immediately.
-Clean brushes after use to avoid hardening of bristles.

And all night long, you don't have to worry about 'slipping' liner + shadow.

Great beauty tip!
