Natalie Portman: Best Look Of The Week In Christian Dior!

From her pretty head to her pretty toes, Natalie Portman looks absolutely exquisite at the New York City Ballet's Annual Fall Gala earlier this week at Lincoln Center.

She wins our Best Look of the Week.

Maybe it's the stunning, simple Christian Dior column gown she is wearing. Or her classic makeup + hair. Whatever 'it' is, she's hitting ALL the right notes!

Sometimes, a bit of elegance is all you need
.
We love the textured beauty in this color-block gown of turquoise, yellow + black from Christian Dior's Fall 2013 Couture collection.  It's like a pop-corn stitch.

Say what you will, but we think Natalie Portman nailed it!

And she kept it to the minimum:

Drop  amethyst earrings
Statement watch by Richard Mille.
Highlighted brunette hair worn down + tucked behind ears
Smoky eyes, bold brow and  nude lips

What do you think?

Natalie Portman wears it well?

Or Natalie Portman plays it safe?

Who wants soft, shiny, manageable hair?

We do! We do!

There's a brand new hair repair cream coming to a Walmart near you this Fall. It's called-- Cantu Argan Oil Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream ($5.97, at CantuBeauty).

It's a leave-in-conditioner. We like creams that REPAIR.

We also RAVE about beauty products that don't bust your budget. This one is great bang and great hair for the buck!

You're getting a sizable tub--16 fl. oz. for LESS than $6. Plus it's loaded with argan oil, one of the finest ingredients for soft, shiny, manageable hair.

This repair cream has been developed especially for dry or coarse hair. It's been infused with 100% pure Argan Oil.

And Cantu Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream stops and mends hair breakage.

If you did any of these during the summer----sunning, highlighting, perming, straightening, coloring, bleaching, curling ironing, flat-ironing, and so forth...your mane is THIRSTY.

Fall is the best time to REPAIR the damage.

And at $5.97 a tub, we think Cantu Argan Oil Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream is a smart product to have in your beauty stockpile.

Botox: How Young Can You Be To Get Wrinkle-Free?

Botox.

A lot of adult women + men get these stinging shots of youth EVERY 3-4 months to stay wrinkle-free.

But if your 20-year-old daughter announced to you, that she wanted to get Botox to have a perfectly smooth complexion what would you say?

You'd probably remark that she were crazy. But some experts believe it's OKAY to begin receiving Botox shots in your early 20s to really keep wrinkles away.

A recent commentary in the JAMA Dermatology publication suggested just that-- stating that it is "rarely too early" to start the "conservative and thoughtful use of neuromodulators [i.e., Botox], fillers and noninvasive energy-based treatments."

One dermatologist from Boston said this to Today-Health:

"If you slow down the use of these muscles beginning early in adult life, the lines never develop," Dr. Kenneth Arndt says. "Rather than going backward and fixing something that’s there, you can inhibit it from starting in the first place." And he co-wrote the JAMA commentary.

"We’re not advocating treating infants, children and people in their teens," he added. "What I would suggest is at whatever point [people] begin to notice and are bothered by some of these things like frown lines or forehead lines … it’s reasonable to consider starting treatment with Botox. It’s easier and more effective to inhibit progression than come in 10 years later and take them away. We’ve termed it 'prejuvenation."'

Not every expert thinks this is a good idea.

"For the average person to start using Botox in their twenties is overkill," Dr. Arthur Perry, a board certified plastic surgeon with offices in New York and New Jersey told Today-Health"There’s a variability in the wrinkles and thinning of the skin, so to do it before the late thirties is probably unnecessary in the vast majority of people."

Plus, Botox is pricey---about $700 for halting wrinkles on just the forehead area, alone. And you have to go back for more Botox every 3-4 months.

Learn all about Botox here.

Our humble advice: If you are in your 20s, limit the amount of sun you get. ALWAYS wear sunscreen. Don't smoke. Don't drink a lot of alcohol.

Cate Blanchett Wows in One-Of-A-Kind Givenchy Gown At Blue Jasmine Premiere

Cate Blanchett.

The Oscar-winner just oozes elegance + sophistication.

There's the striking 44-year-old Australian actress at the UK premiere of Woody Allen's 'Blue Jasmine' movie last evening.

And she's wowing in a stunning, futuristic black Givenchy gown with exquisite bronze detailing. The fab halter neck reveals a sexy plunging back with cape-like draping.

The magic is all on the shoulders design,  bringing  attention to the neck + face. It's so chic + classy, and Cate wears it well, from front-to-back-to-side.

Of course, Cate's complexion glows, showing off great skin care. Her choice?

Cate Blanchett has supposedly been using SK-II Skin care products for 11 years now, and swears by their effectiveness. In fact, Cate is now the global spokesperson for the SK-II line.

'Throughout my career, I have only accepted roles that I am passionate about, and my partnership with SK-II is no different. I truly believe I already played this role as an ambassador long before SK-II caught up with me,' Cate Blanchett has said.

For Super Glossy High-Tech Lashes, Call Avon

Mascara.

It's a beauty essential. Period. There's no way you can look complete without it. And of course, there are zillions of mascaras to choose from.

Here's another. It's so peculiar-looking, we are intrigued by it:

Avon Mega Effects Mascara ($10, at Avon.com).

This stuff promises 'panoramic volume!'
Avon calls their wand the Wonderbrush. And if you can wield it properly, it can be bent + adjusted in many angles to reach each nook & cranny in the lash department.
We haven't tried it yet, but we probably will. We try and sample EVERY mascara that hits the market.

Avon is calling their Mega Effects Mascara a 'breakthrough' formula that, "provides 24-hour volume, leaving lashes darker, denser and more dramatic." It comes in black and brown-black.

Here's what one, happy Avon customer wrote in a recent review:

"I wear mascara everyday so I try a ton of products always searching for the one that will make my lashes long, full and stay on all day. THIS IS IT! When you first open the mascara it will take a while getting used to applying it in such a different way, a lot of mascara tends to get on the applicator in the beginning but once you get the hang of it you will love it. I am planning to write to Avon to ask them to please contact me far in advance of ever changing or discontinuing this product I love it that much! My only hope is that Avon gets the word out on this product. I think once people try it, it's here to stay. GREAT PRODUCT.....THANKS AVON!"---CJL1123.
