We heard actress Shailene Woodley talking about that a few weeks ago. And today's British publication Daily Mail Online has a post about the latest diet fad.
Ingesting clay?
We were dumb-founded, indeed. But apparently, it is a real thing, as long as the clay is from a company that is offering "certified clay for human consumption."
Longtime model Elle Macpherson is said to be a proud clay drinker, too. And Zoe Kravitz, also.
The clay consumption process appears to be simple:
Clay in your cup. Mix with water. Drink.
Why clay?
We know it makes for a super skin care mask as it draws out impurities and revs up circulation.
Clay is also loaded with magnesium, and that in itself, flushes out the toxins + heavy metals from the body. Well then---why not just take a magnesium powdered supplement?
We are not sure. But we do know that pregnant women are advised to stay away from clay-ingesting drinks. Bentonite clay appears to be a favorite clay for human consumption. We do know this clay is also wonderful as a facial mask. It is a deep pore cleanser---gets rid of dirt, grease, acne + any other bacteria on the face, delivering a healthy pink glow + clearness to the complexion.

Before you start investing in clay drinks, PLEASE do your homework. Ask your dermatologist about it. Play SAFE, girls + boys.
We would rather wear it as a clay facial mask than drink it as a yucky, clay cocktail.
