Braun Battery-Operated Hair Brush Boosts Shine And Softness

Say bye-bye to fly-away and frizzy hair. At the simple press of a button, you get instant shine and smoothness.

It's a battery-operated hair brush with active ion technology, called the Braun Satin Hair Brush ($75, at braun.com). And it won't damage hair because it has seamless bristles.

The Satin Hair Brush works with Iontec, which in layman's terms, well, we can't really explain, but let the company say it better:

"Braun IONTEC works just like a conditioner: the ions continuously minimise the build-up of charges and therefore keep the friction between hair fibres down. Braun IONTEC also encourages weak and damaged hair to hold onto essential moisture supplies meaning hair looks smooth, shiny and healthy."

It's easy to use and travel-friendly, and actually, good for your hair.

Let's be honest.....We all damage our locks on a daily basis with constant blow-drying, coloring, bleaching, perming, straightening, flat-ironing, and so forth. And the Braun Satin Hair Brush is designed to smooth out the cuticles and bring back healthy shine.

Who wouldn't want a glossy head of hair?

Gotta Love The Lip Crayon---Hot New Trend For Sheer Color

Hot and bothered....But not in a good way. We're talking about the summer weather and the challenge to keep makeup fresh and in the moment.

Today, it's going to hit 87 degrees here. A bit too HOT for our taste, but we still follow our daily makeup routine. Except this time, we're going to reach for a box of pretty colored crayons.

Well, sort of.

The hot trend right now----lip crayons! You know, those fat pencils everyone can manuever. And if you hate that heavy lipstick look during those hot spring/summer days, then you should pick up a lip crayon. You will like what you see----a sheer hint of color in a moisturizing base.

Lip crayons are different than the typical lip gloss---too sticky or the matte lip stain---too dry. With a big, fat crayon, you get a light wash of color. If you apply a few more coats, you get more of a dramatic look.

And there are tons to choose from:

1. Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm ($15, at clinique.com). In yum-yum shades like, Woppin' Watermelon.

2. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($24, at narscosmetics.com). In creamy, nourishing shades.

3. Hard Candy Visibly Wet Shockingly Glossy Lip Pencil ($6, at Walmart stores).

New Dr. Lewinn Kinerase Line Promises Wrinkle Relief: Does It Deliver?

Last November, we told our Beauty Tip Today readers about a new, cheaper Kinerase skin care line launching in 2011. It's called Dr. Lewinn by Kinerase, with a great price range----between $10 and $35 each. Compare that to the $100 plus price for Kinerase's main skin care line, and we have a smile on our face.

The Lewinn line has been out there for a few months now, at select Walmart and Walgreen stores. And it's a 10-piece line, including cleansers, moisturizers and daily treatments. And yes, the products contain the special patented plant-based kinetin formula found in the original, more expensive Kinerase skin care line adored by many celebrities, including Courteney Cox.

The Kinerase company is based in southern California. The new line is inspired by Dr. LeWinn, an Australian celebrity plastic surgeon.

But does the Dr. Lewinn by Kinerase line really deliver significant wrinkle repair?

Let's dig a little deeper. We have learned that the new, cheaper skin care line DOES have the same super ingredients already found in the brand, but at a smaller concentration. In other words, this is Kinerase L-I-T-E.

According to the Dr. Lewinn line, these products have "only two to three cosmeceutical-grade ingredients," versus the 10 to 12 in a Kinerase prestige product, says Jenniffer Smoot, marketing director for the company. But the scientifically-advanced formula gives back fine results to the consumer, she suggests, because you could not find such skin care technology in dept. stores, until now.

Still, do your homework....check consumer product reviews online. Maybe the Kinerase line with the $100 price tag and higher, is worth the extra splurge. Wouldn't you prefer a skin care product with a 10-12 cosmeceutical-grade rather than one with a 2-3 grade?!

We're just saying.......

Kelly Ripa Go-To Drink: EBOOST Energy Packets

TV host Kelly Ripa is one very busy woman. She's got three kids, does television commercials, makes many media appearances, and also works out like a fiend. And at age 40, she is 'ripped.'

Kelly has admitted that she works out 7 days a week to keep her extremely toned body in shape.

"I work out every day, and I make sure to do something different every day," Kelly has said.

So, if Kelly Ripa is giving out nutritional tips, well, she would surely know what's good for your body and what's bad. You don't have to agree with her super toned, ultra-skinny figure, but you have to admit, the girl is so very disciplined.

And the star is revealing her go-to drink when she really needs some get up and go:

Word has it, that Kelly Ripa adds EBOOST energy drink mix to her water.

The energy drink is sold in 20-packet boxes $28 at eboost. And it's full of yummy flavor and all that good stuff-----2,500 mcg of Vitamin B12, 1,000mg of Vitamin C, and 120 mcg of chromium, to stop cravings. PLus, you don't get that jittery caffeine feeling you often get from other energy drinks.

Take a sip because it's all good in: pink lemonade, acai, orange, and pomegranate.

EBOOST will certainly add a lot of pep to your step.

Great beauty tip, Kelly Ripa!

How To Rock Rihanna's 2011 Billboard Style: All White Pantsuit

Rihanna could not miss at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards last evening. First of all, the gorgeous girl with the fire engine-red locks picked up some major Billboard hardware, including wins for Female Artist of the Year and Radio Artist of the Year.

And the singer made quite an entrance to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the show.

Rihanna was rockin' a Max Azria white pantsuit along with a white blouse unbuttoned down to her navel and a pair of nude stilettos. By far, probably the sexiest look of the Billboard night.

So, here's how an all-white ensemble speaks louder than vivid pops of color sometimes. White is perfect for spring and summer, especially. It's a simple palette, but one that spells: classic, crisp, and clean.

Rihanna definitely looked like a star and a woman in charge.

If you can't wear stark white, you CAN wear a softer, cream or ivory. There is a shade of white that looks great on everybody.

Gwyneth Paltrow is known to favor a simplistic, modern look, where white is the focus color. It's uncomplicated and fresh.

At least one white blouse or shirt should be a staple in every woman's closet, along with a white blazer and white pants. It's the foundation to building a classic wardrobe.

How To Get Karina's Flat Tummy Six-Pack With One Cheap Exercise Device

Dancing with the Stars' Karina Smirnoff has an incredible body. And she has worked very hard on staying slim and sexy through hours and hours of dancing. Most recently, she showed it all off inside the pages of Playboy magazine.

What fascinated us, is this little beauty tidbit by the very talented DWTS pro:

Karina Smirnoff has a little exercise tip that will help you flatten your tummy and build toward an envious six-pack. And she does this with one, cheap and simple exercise device:

The Dual Ab Wheel by Valeo ($11.56, on SALE at amazon.com). That's right---for less than $12, you are getting a solid piece of gym equipment that really works. Karina recently told OK magazine that she uses her Ab Wheel first thing in the A.M. to help wake her up.

"It's really, really hard!" she admits. "The first time, I could only do 5 or 10, but it's a pretty awesome wokrout. It feels a little like torture but then after, when you see the results, you're like, 'Oh, hello!"

So, how exactly does this thing work?

You are rolling out away from your chest. To use it, simply get on all fours, grab hold of the handles, and glide the wheels back and forth across the floor.

But, not as easy as it sounds.

This little gizmo requires patience and effort.

The Dual Ab Wheel by Valeo features two sturdy and durable plastic handles. It has a comfortable grip for easy rolling. And it's cushioned with rubber foam for easy handling. There are two non-skid wheels for stability. And it's super for toning abs, shoulders, arms and back.

The way we see it, if it's good enough for a professional dancer like Karina Smirnoff, then it's a well-made product that really works.
