Latest So-Called Research Claims Botox May Spark Depression

When done properly by a licensed dermatologist or plastic surgeon, Botox Cosmetic can hold wrinkles + fine lines at bay for 3-4 months. You might smile more or even appear a bit happier because Botox makes you look BETTER.

The beauty injectable can erase some 5 years or more from your age.

Suddenly, the pesky crow's feet around your eyes along with forehead + middle-of-the-eyebrow creases, etc., magically disappear.

Botox is the MOST popular cosmetic treatment around! It has been marketed here since FDA-approval in 2002. It's a brilliant beauty invention in many ways, especially in the quest for staying youthful. Botox Cosmetic works by halting muscle movement and in doing so, causes a relaxation and disappearance of skin lines + wrinkles.

So, imagine the latest so-called research to come out, claiming Botox can indirectly cause depression.  A British psychologist from Cardiff University has found that because Botox is temporarily ‘freezing’ the muscles in the face, it is also severing the signals sent to the brain when we smile which make us feel happy. Oh, really?!

Dr. Michael Lewis' study involved 25 women who had been injected with Botox or facial fillers. Each filled out a questionnaire about depression symptoms:

Here is what Dr. Lewis told the British DailyMail:
‘The expressions we make on our faces affect the emotions we feel. We smile because we are happy but smiling also makes us happy.
‘Treatment with drugs like Botox prevents the patient from being able to make a particular expression.

‘For example, those treated for frown lines with Botox are not able to frown as strongly. This interrupts the feedback they would normally get from their face and they feel less sad.’

We do not agree with Dr. Lewis' findings. We believe that Botox is wonderful when administered by a licensed professional.  It's safe and merely allows the patient to look younger with better skin texture.

We don't believe that depression plays any role in Botox results. We think a lot more research is needed before making a huge claim like that.

Gwyneth Paltrow is 40-years-old. Maria Menounos is 34-years-old. Both popular celebrities are in GREAT shape.

Maria has this advice:

"I eat what I want, when I want and am super active throughout my workday."

Then there is the alleged lip augmentation from a while ago.

A lot of women LOVE to hate the supermodel of them all--Gisele Bundchen.

Look at her!! She just gave birth to cutie-pie Vivian just 5 months ago, and yeah, she is still in phenomenal shape.

There walks Gisele through the airport having just landed in Sao Paulo, Brazil  for a modeling gig. We like her traveling proud mama style.

First, the signature beach-wavy hair is spot-on.

Secondly, Gisele is hiding behind a pair of aviator sunglasses. That is the key to a glam, classic sense of style. That's what American sportswear designer Michael Kors says:

We couldn't agree more. Maybe you can't afford a gorgeous pair of Michael Kors aviators for $150 a pair. But you can still be a cool jet-setter with a cheaper pair.

Sexy Side-Part Adds Classic Beauty For Spring 2013

Let's pick a side, ladies!

If you're looking for an easy classic beauty look for Spring 2013, then the sides have it. The fresh trend is all about the deep side part.

It's simple enough to create with a humble comb. Just find your better profile and part from there.

Curly heads, pin-straight hair, short + long can all look flattering with the side part. And the celebrities have been HOT on the trend for recent red carpet events. Look at Keri Russell. She looks lovely and not trying hard. Her stylist Brian Magallones created her do like this:

1. To create this look, I started by taking 2-inch sections of hair and curling them with a curling iron and pinning them up in pin curls.
2. As I was curling, I sprayed each section with Aveda Volumizing Tonic to add volume and hold.
3. I used a 1-inch curling iron around the face for a more defined wave and a large 1-3/4-inch iron for the rest of the head.
4. Once the pin curls had cooled and set, I removed each pin curl and flat ironed the ends. The straight ends are what give this look that modern edge.
5. Next, I created a deep side part for drama and brushed the hair to relax the curl and shape the wave around the face.
6. I finished it off by running some Aveda Brilliant Emollient Finishing Gloss through to add amazing shine, and held it in place all night long with Aveda Control Force hairspray.

Jessica Alba + Reese Witherspoon also both love wearing the deep side part.
 It adds instant cool glam!

We love Khloe Kardashian's mini blue print Thakoon dress. So cute.

 And we are also 'heart-ing' her adorable milk-maid braids. LOVE that style and not every chick can pull it off.

Rihanna + Lilit Continue To Wear This Old Been-There-Done-That Trend

Have you had enough of this over-done celebrity trend of the one-side shaved head hairstyle?!

Rihanna LOVES this bad-ass look and has rocked it before with very short black locks. And now she's showing it off yet again with pretty light highlights.

The do is actually called, The Skrillex after a male Grammy-nominated disc jockey who supposedly established the hair trend.

Even worse, Rihanna's Skrillex’ hairstyle has just been voted the worst hair trend of the 21st Century.

Oh, my!

That doesn't mean so much because the one-side shaved head is still going strong and a lot of people are copying it even in quiet suburbia.
Reggie Bush's girlfriend Lilit is also sporting The Skrillex do, as seen in the photo below.
We think this bad-ass trend is quite sexy, and if we were in our 20s, we would possibly try and rock this lop-sided tresses look.

You need some major confidence to pull off the one-side shaved head. And although the hair experts claim the trend is old + dead, we beg to differ.

The Skrillex looks to be alive + well!

No matter how you slice it, ANY shade in the pink family is very flattering to the skin tone. And it just happens to be, that FUCHSIA is the HOT trend for Spring Beauty 2013.

Drew Barrymore Gives Mascara Beauty Tips One Lash At A Time

Gotta love Drew Barrymore. The proud new mama of baby Olive is beaming with joy these days.

She's also got a popular new makeup line she developed called Flower. It is sold at Walmart stores.
