NeNe Leakes Shed 20 Pounds Before June Wedding By Portion Control

We think NeNe  has a great, voluptuous body. Plus, this 45-year-old Atlanta housewife has super self-esteem. And that is so key to a wonderful life!

Look at the photo of the tall, blonde beauty at a recent red carpet event in September.

"I only wanted to lose 5 or 10 pounds," admitted the newlywed star of the Bravo reality spin-off, I Dream Of NeNe: The Wedding.

Nene enjoys eating yummy food, like most of us, and wasn't about to deprive herself of her the good stuff. But the 5' 10" Atlanta diva also knew when to push away from the table. And that is key to her impressive 20 lb. weight loss.

"I like being a curvy girl. I tried to give up soda and not eat late at night. But I don’t avoid eating," Nene tells Life & Style magazine

 "I’m not trying to starve myself. I love food."
You won't catch the 'Glee' actress reading labels in the supermarket aisle. Nene just isn't into the whole calorie count.

"I don’t count calories or carbs," she tells the magazine. "Counting doesn’t get me anywhere. I do portion control when trying to lose weight. Eat less, move more."

That is excellent dietary advice, Miss Nene!

Kelly Osbourne All Tied Up In Intricate Lavender Plaiting

Wearable hair.

That's been the HOT trend since the Spring 2013 runway shows. And apparently these elegant, yet casual hairstyles are still gaining fans.

Take a look at E!'s 'Fashion Police' star Kelly Osbourne.' She wowed the crowd in intricate, lavender plaiting at The Black Diamond Affair presented by AZATURE in West Hollywood on last  night.

The braiding or plaiting looks quite lovely on Kelly.

Okay...so this red carpet  hairstyle would require the nimble fingers of a professional stylist, no doubt. But, it 's still 'wearable hair.'.

There are so many ways to braid/plait hair. Maybe the lavender hair rinse gives it that extra uniqueness.

Not Every Gal Can Be Blonde And Look Good In It---Er, Yasmin, Is That You?

We have always admired the classic, quiet beauty of the UK's Yasmin Le Bon.

So imagine our horror when we saw her major beauty transformation:

The longtime model has gone platinum!

Sorry----though Yasmin remains physically stunning, even she CANNOT pull off the switch to blonde--at least not in this very pale shade of platinum.

She looks 'washed-out.'. And those tell-tale roots aren't helping any.

We admire that the English beauty was busy attending a Tatler Great Girls Lunch in aid of Cancer Research UK on Monday as she debuted her punk, pixie, platinum do.

But the look is all wrong.

Sometimes, we just can't all be blonde and look good in it...ourselves, included.

Now here's a photo of Yasmin in a summer Monsoon magazine cover shot. Her long, sandy brown locks are so beautiful, especially the brunette shade.

" I love chocolate chip cookies. And right now, I’m a huge fan of the Snickers ice cream bars, because it’s only five points. And then I can have chocolate, ice cream and nuts, but it’s almost not cheating until I go over."

Okay....we've been noticing this, er, major cleavage on display ALL week now.

Are we jealous much?

We have a small bosom....a 34B. And yeah, we CAN create nice cleavage via  a VS push-up bra.....But what we're seeing lately from a few naughty celebs is an almost vulgar display.

Ladies---Watch Out!! September, October + November: Hair Fallout Doubles!

We first posted about autumnal hair fallout last November, after reading a fascinating article from Japan about hair loss during the months of September, October + November. And once again, we have been affected by this bizarre occurrence.

We are noticing MORE strands in our hairbrush. Tomorrow marks October 1st. So, we figure, we have another month of  NORMAL hair-shedding to deal with.

We find it frightening, to say the least. We don't care how NORMAL it appears to be. Finding MORE hair in one's hairbrush, is never a calming thing.

Here is the article once again, from the Japanese newspaper, 'Yomiuri Shimbun:'

...OSAKA--"Like trees shedding their leaves, autumn is the time of year when humans are said to lose the most amount of hair. Some experts attribute this to damage caused by exposure to ultraviolet rays during summer, while others say autumn is a time when much of the hair is replaced by new growth. Hair care specialists suggest gentle shampooing and getting enough sleep to maintain a healthy mane." We never knew about this.

The article, written by staff writer Michiko Nakai , goes on to explain that most heads have between 100,000 - 140,000 strands of hair, and "each strand goes through 3 phases--the anagen phase of growth, the catagen phase where the hair bulb at the base of each strand weakens, and the telogen phase when weakened hair falls off." The cycle then repeats every 5 or 6 years.

So, how much hair fallout is normal?

 

According to the article...."An average of 100 strands of hair fall out as part of this cycle per day, but according to some studies, this rate increases twofold from September to November."

 

We're not sure how many of you have noticed more hair in your hairbrush, but we thought we would bring this to your beauty attention, in case you start to experience the same.

Jessica Alba Debuts Shorter Hairstyle And Trendy, Dip-Dyed Ombre Color

Alright...So when does actress Jessica Alba ever look lousy?

Probably rarely.

The glam mom of two had everyone's attention at last evening's 'ALMA Awards Show.'. We LOVED her sophisticated ensemble of a silky white blouse with frilly sleeves and maxi skirt that dazzled in silver + black beading.

The hair was a few inches shorter. We suspect that Jessica merely had her long extensions removed.

The new do was designed by celeb stylist Andy Lecompte. It features that ombre, dip-dyed 2-tone look we've discussed in 2 recent posts here at BeautyTipToday.com. Jessica is now sporting a center-parted, blunt, wavy hairstyle a few inches below her shoulders.

Apparently, the 2-tone, dip-dyed hair is still HOT, especially out in Hollywood.

Although Kim K could pull off any hair color--dark hair is her BEST friend, and the sooner she figures this out, the better.

We are guessing the blonde Beyoncé-look will be no more after a few more weeks.

While hanging in Europe, Kim hid under a big brown floppy fedora, long, belted camel coat, grey tee shirt and leggings and lace-up stiletto booties.
