Summer Time Means Clairol Frost & Tip And HairPainting

We have told you time and time again, that it's best to leave the complex haircoloring to the professionals, especially when it involves a 2-step color processing.

But what if you just want to head into the balmy breezes of June, July, and August with a gently sun-kissed mane of hair?

Summer time means Clairol Frost & Tip Nice 'n Easy and Clairol HairPainting Nice 'n Easy.

And Clairol puts out a very good highlighting kit for women to use at home, according to New York City colorist Marcello Paglionico. He told InStyle magazine that this formulation really delivers, "beautiful, natural, beachy" highlights without a hint of brassiness. And because it is oil-based, it leaves hair in fantastic condition."

And the price is nice, $10.99, at your favorite drugstore.

Take a peek at the results below:

There is also the Clairol HairPainting Kit to use, but which one is right for your degree of highlighting?

Aquaphor Cheap Nighttime Eye Cream Says NYC Derm

We're all trying to get our beauty's worth, each time we spend money on treatments that promise to deliver.

Promises that equal smoother skin, smaller pores, acne-free complexion, wrinkles zapped, and so on.

And when these beauty products don't exactly live up to the hype, the frustration deepens. And when you've shelled out a lot of $$$ to look pretty, well, that really hurts.

Today we are looking at a simple jar of Aquaphor Healing Ointment ($8.99, 3.5 oz., drugstores everywhere).

On the jar it reads: 'Advanced Therapy for dry, cracked, or irritated skin. Clinically proven to restore smooth, healthy skin.'

And according to New York City Dermatologist Laurie Polis (see photo), this little jar does something else-----it acts a a superb nighttime eye cream.

Laurie Polis told In Style Magazine that Aquaphor Healing Ointment does its best work when you've retired for the night, which is actually the best time to treat your skin.

"It conditions lashes and hydrates the delicate eye skin really well," Laurie Polis says. And she swears by this product.

Who is Laurie Polis? She is a celebrity dermatologist. And her client list is quite impressive-----Madonna, Naomi Campbell, Drew Barrymore, Kate Moss, and even Mel Gibson.

Many of you have already used Aquaphor Healing Ointment for years on dry, cracked heels, on sunburns, chapped lips, fresh tattoos, newly shaven legs, and the list goes on.

The only advice we will give you: While using the product around the eyes, be careful when applying. You don't want to get the ointment in the eyes.

How To Get Sweat-Free Feet In Chic Summer Soles

Our feet go through so much action on a daily basis. And when it's hot and muggy outside, well, even celebrity feet can sweat and yes, even smell.

But there is a chic solution. All you do is peel, stick, and stay dry. They are uber-trendy. And they're called Summer Soles. And simply put, these are removable liners. And Summer Soles come in a wide variety of colors and fabrics and even scents, all to keep your feet happy and sweat-free.

And at the same time, Summer Soles keep the insides of all your favorite shoes, looking new.

The science is not complicated here. Summer Soles are a super concept, because these removable liners provide a soft, dry barrier between feet and the shoe bed, so your feet stay dry. And they really do work!

And if you worried about fitting a pair inside your favorite sandals, shoes, or boots, relax. It's easier than you might think. Here's what the folks at http://www.summersoles.com/ say:

One size fits most. Usually minor trimming is necessary to fit to your shoe. We carry some colors in wide width, too. Summer Soles fit women's shoe sizes 5-11, and men's sizes 7-12.

For all shoe styles---Sandals, pumps, mules, flats - but just the dressy kind, with leather or shiny synthetic soles. NOT for spongy flip flops or fabric- bottomed styles like Birkenstocks. The light sticky back just can't grip fabric. Though we hear they're fabulous for going barefoot in Canvas Keds.

And the price is nice, too, for picking up some Summer Soles. We like the plush microfiber suede insoles (see photo of wedge sandals). Only $8 a pair. And the suede ones last and last.

If you don't absolutely adore Summer Soles, there's a money-back guarantee.

These chic liners are sold in many stores across the nation. And you can buy them online, too.

Olive Oil Skin Care Products Smoothing Over Complexions

If you think of olive oil, you might be saying what a super food product it is for keeping the inside of your body like a fit running machine. But did you ever wonder how this healthy oil could also bring you many benefits for 'outside' the face and body, too?

There have been lots of beauty articles written about olive oil cleansers, olive oil creams, and a number of olive oil skin care products.

Many of you have shied away from these beauty treatments because you think your skin will get super oily and break out. But not the case. Instead, olive oil gives skin softness, elasticity, and protection from irritants in our environment.

Today, we are looking at 2 skin care companies that offer very popular olive oil-based products:
DHC Skin Care and Eger Olive Oil Skin Care.

DHC has several olive oil products for improving your skin. The most popular item is their Deep Cleansing Oil ($ 25, 6.7 fl oz, www.dhccare.com). It's a water-soluble product that makes makeup disappear immediately.

"Dirt, excess oil, makeup—even waterproof mascara—and other pore-cloggers dissolve easily, leaving your face a grime-free zone that is soft to the touch. Its unique water-soluble formula rinses completely, so you’ll never see a greasy residue. Olive oil and vitamin E help ensure you won’t see dryness either."

DHC also features olive oil leaf creams, olive oil leaf extracts, and other olive oil-based skin care treatments.

Eger Skin Care, based in Israel, offers a variety of olive oil beauty products in creams, oils, and ointments.

Dr. Shaul Eger explains the science behind his treatments:

The main active ingredient is olive oil, which offers the following benefits:
Improves cells' metabolism .
Reduces cell aging rate.
Impoves cells' membrane flexibility.
Essential oils are incorporated to
Create pleasing scents of flowers, leaves, stems and barks from which they come.
Contribute their therapeutic properties.
No fragrances used in our products, due to their allergenic properties.
The oils and ointments are purely of plant origin, of natural antioxidants and no animals based additives.

Visit www.doctor-eger.com for purchase information, and for details on the launching of his new skin care line, Derma Care products.

Miley Cyrus And Max Azria Design WalMart Clothing Line

If you are a Miley Cyrus fan, or maybe your kids are, you will love this fashion tip:

Multi-talented Miley has teamed up with famous designer Max Azria to create a girl's clothing line for Walmart. Not bad for a 17-year-old.

The new line will be called 'Miley Cyrus & Max Azria. And it debuts this August at a Walmart near you.

The best thing we love about Miley's clothing line is the simple fact, that every piece will cost $20 or less!!! Now we're talking.

Check out the photos of Miley Cyrus modeling clothing from her new line. We like what we see.

The collection of tops, graphic tees, pants, shoes and accessories will be available come August in stores and at Walmart.com.

This all squares off nicely with the timing of Miley's concert tour, which launches in Oregon in mid-September.

Max Azria is excited about their clothing line together, and he's quite impressed with Miley's gift as a performer, as well as her down-to-earth personality:

"Miley Cyrus is talented and approachable, so working with her sparked a line that is authentic and vibrant," he says.

Halle Berry Crowned Best Celebrity Skin...No Surprise

She's 42-years-old. And a new mom. And to win top honors for having the Best Celebrity Skin, well, that says something, too.

Halle Berry always looks flawless. And apparently, up close and personal, her skin appears the same way.

According to David Bank, M.D., founder and director of The Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic and Laser Surgery, the stunning actress has probably taken 4 steps to maintain that enviable skin:

1. Be careful in the sun.

2. A great at-home maintenance routine.

3. Possibly Botox ($350 per area). Temporarily erases lines around eyes and forehead.

4. Possible Thermage Treatments ($1,000- $5, 000). Firms skin and tones complexion.

The good doctor also forgot to throw in good DNA, something Halle Berry has certainly been gifted with. And a healthy lifestyle. Halle is diabetic. She is active, follows a sound diet, and is never photographed partying all night long in Hollywood.

So we aren't surprised that Halle Berry was crowned Best Celebrity Skin.

By the way, Halle has just chopped off her longer hair, into her 2002 trademark pixie cut. Thought you'd like to see her latest.
