Up-Dos And Buns And Red Lips Shine At 2010 Academy Awards

Up-dos and buns were everywhere gracing the red carpet at last night's Academy Awards show. Oscar winner Sandra Bullock was one of the few lovely ladies who wore her hair down. Stylist Frederic Fekkai chose to create a simple and sleek straight-down do with a strong side part, which is hot for 2010. A slight wave at the bottom completed the look.

Most of Hollywood chose to wear their hair pulled back, up and away from the face. Not an easy look to pull off for everyone, but beauties like Nicole Richie, Zoe Saldana, and Jennifer Lopez certainly wore it well.

Nicole Richie was sporting an elegant ballerina bun, which stylists have shown on the runways for the new year. It's a sophisticated and refined look, and turns the spotlight on one's features beautifully.

Jennifer Lopez opted for a 'messier' up-do, with a few wispy tendrils peeking out, which still showed off her sexy side. And of course, statuesque beauty Charlize Theron wowed the crowd with a side-parted do, softly tucked behind in back.

As far as the Academy Award makeup styles, red lips were hot, and Sandra Bullock and Charlize were not shy about putting on a very bold lip. You can't tell by the photo of Sandra here, but those lips were dark red on the television screen.

There were mainly softer lips in pale, neutral shades on most celebrities last evening. Zoe, Nicole, and Jennifer chose a stronger eye, instead. Amazing cat eye makeup. Just look at Nicole Richie. Her eyes are mesmerizing. Absolutely stunning. It appears to be a silver eyeshadow with a black liquid liner.

And as you know, Jennifer Lopez loves to highlight her cheekbones. And once again, her makeup is perfectly applied. Makeup artist Matthew Vanleeuween used NARS Orgasm Illuminator to achieve those highly defined cheekbones.
Here's the rest of the beauty breakdown of NARS cosmetics used to create Jennifer's flawless face:
Enchanted Cream Blush
Desire Blush
Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

Beauty On A Budget Buy: New N.Y.C. Blushable Creme Stick

Beauty on a budget. You know you like it. Who doesn't want an excellent beauty product that won't break your wallet? That's why we were attracted to a new blush by drugstore favorite, N.Y.C. New York Color.

It's called, N.Y.C. Blushable Creme Stick ($2.99, drugstores...Rite Aid, Walgreens).

We think it's a great little blush in a stick. It's a cream, not a powder. It glides on smoothly and actually lasts for a few hours. And the Blushable Creme Stick comes in 6 shades.

The consistency is very creamy. And thankfully not frosty or shimmery like some other cheap drugstore brands. It looks natural and there is a light sheen, and you can build on it, or layer it stronger. Try it in Plaza Pink, a soft, peachy/pink shade.

Even reality star Kim Kardashian carries the new N.Y.C.'s Blushable Creme Stick in her makeup bag for those red carpet evenings. Kim told OK magazine that it's definitely in her bag:

"This is a super blendable blush that can act as a lipstick in case I need a touch-up."

Remember this ladies: Blush is the most important makeup to put on, even when you're rushing out the door, with little time to do your face. It enhances bone structure and gives the face a warmth and brightness. That little beauty nugget comes from legendary makeup artist Sandy Linter.

How To Get Rid Of Stubborn Belly Fat Naturally With Chlorophyll

Stubborn belly fat. It's a nusiance and it isn't pretty.

Chlorophyll equals flat belly. How can that be? Isn't chlorophyll the stuff that makes leaves and grass green?!

Yes! And according to the dietary experts, chlorophyll acts like a mild laxative and encourages the liver into becoming a better fat-burning machine. The green pigment is also full of magnesium which helps to balance blood sugar and melt away stubborn belly fat. Chlorophyll is also high in vitamin and mineral content.

Ann Louise Gittleman, PhD, and an award-winning author of 30 books, tells First for Women magazine that, "the best absorbed form (of chlorophyll) is a liquid extract mixed with water." She suggests a twice daily drink of 1 tsp. of chlorophyll in 8 oz. of water.

Dr. Gittleman likes Sunny Green Liquid Chlorophyll ($13, 16 oz., at health-food stores).

Just one key note to consider: If stools become too loose, reduce dose to 1/2 tsp. of cholorophyll in 8 oz., twice daily.

Did you know that a glass of wheat grass juice has lots of chlorophyll in it? From what we learned, it is nearly 70% chlorophyll. If you examine chlorophyll's basic chemical compound, it matches the human hemoglobin almost perfectly. This in turn, gives the body excellent healing and nutritional value.

And lettuce (and other raw leafy green vegetables) is also another great source of chlorophyll for more natural ways of burning stubborn belly fat.

Before adding a liquid chlorophyll to your diet, please check with your doctor, especially if your are pregnant or have diabetes.

How To Fake Having Perfect Fuller Eyebrows In Just A Few Steps

Eyebrows. Now that's a touchy subject around many women. Some of us have plucked away ours forever. And others just never had thick brows to begin with. And yet, there are an enviable few, who seem to have perfect, fuller eyebrows naturally.

So what's a gal to do?

First, fuller brows = youth. Don't believe us? Two experts weigh in on the brow theory:

Professional makeup artist Sandy Linter, who has made up many beautiful faces---from Elizabeth Hurley to Eva Longoria Parker to Christie Brinkley, has told us this:

Thin brows are the biggest mistake she sees women make, time and time again. "I don’t like overly thin, trying to be perfect brows," Sandy Linter says. "I like a fuller, more natural looking brow. It is not an L.A. brow, but more like a ‘model’s brow. Look at the models, not the actresses in the magazines for correct brow shapes."

She explains that thin brows are more aging on a women. Sandy advises using brow pencils. "Kevin Aucoin has one that is perfect for any medium to dark brow and Lancome has perfect colors for the lighter blonde brows. Make sure your brow technician does not use any wax. If you think your brows are getting too thick, just use the tweezers. And don’t make the ends too short. It’s tricky, you don’t want the eyebrow to go down at the ends. This is where mistakes happen. Take off as little as possible. I try to get as much mileage from their natural shape that I can."

And the world's best known eyebrow shaper, Anastasia Soare, seems to agree with Sandy Linter on several points:

"Most of us look younger with fuller brows and a soft arch," Anastasia explains to Lady's Home Journal in the March issue.

And like Sandy, Anastasia believes, if you don't have good brows, pencil them in! Anastasia says, to keep the brows looking natural, try using short, hairlike strokes. Then comb through your brows with a clean mascara brush to blend the color evenly across the length of the brow. You can try the Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil ($22, at Anastasia). It comes with a built-in brush.

Most women will admit that it isn't easy using a brow pencil. For pros like Anastasia and Sandy Linter, it's a piece of cake. So a lot of practice is needed in the beginning, until you get the hang of it. And yes, you can pencil in perfect, fuller eyebrows.

Whatever you do, just remember to lay down those tweezers!! Leave the serious plucking and waxing to the experts like Anastasia. If you over-tweeze, well, we've warned you several articles ago, it takes a long time to grow them back, and after age 40, some eyebrow hairs never return, says Sandy Linter.

"It may take up to four months for your brows to grow in fully," Anastasia says. Patience is required, indeed.

You can also grow bangs to cover less than perfect eyebrows. That really makes them look thicker than they are. And by the way, bangs are still big in 2010. So fringe is in.

Enchanting Alice In Wonderland Beauty Products Celebrate New Disney Release

Alice in Wonderland beauty products? Oh yes, indeed! The beloved children's book has come to life in two wonderful ways:

1. The new Disney release, starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and more from a talented cast, springs into theaters in 3D this friday, March 5th.
2. The other beautiful Alice In Wonderland concept......the makeup. Yes, it's true. Urban Decay and O.P.I. are two cosmetics companies, so far, that we know of, celebrating the wonderful story by Lewis Carroll, and of course, the nostalgic drawings by John Tenniel.

Take a peek at the beauty kits we found:

1. Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows ($52, Ulta. This makeup kit is so enchanting to look at!
This is how Ulta describes this wonderland book of shadows:
Open the palette to reveal a pop-up scene of Alice in the mushroom forest. Her "drink me" bottle discarded, she staggers past towering mushrooms, only to cross paths with a very peculiar, hookah-smoking caterpillar. A large mirror rests behind the scene - you feel as if you are transported into the film itself. Hidden inside a secret drawer are 16 best-selling Eyeshadows, given topsy-turvy names like White Rabbit, Jabberwocky and Oraculum. Alongside them lie travel sizes of Eyeshadow Primer Potion and two 24/7 Eye Pencils. From smoky neutral eyes to flashes of hallucinogenic green and purple, the looks you can create are as endless as the rabbit hole itself.
And the customer reviews love these shadows. This wonderland makeup kit has been SOLD OUT for weeks at a time. At the moment, the kit is available online at Ulta.

2. O.P.I. Disney's Alice in Wonderland 2010 Collection Mini Nail Lacquer Pack ($9.20, Amazon.com). But hurry!!! Only 4 were left as of this writing.
Again, a lovely makeup tribute to the classic children's tale. This OPI Wonderland mini nail pack is adorable! And these polishes are so pretty:

Off with Her Red! - A glowering, empowering hot red
Absolutely Alice - An absolutely amazing blue glitter
Mad as a Hatter - A madly marvelous black-multi glitter
Thanks So Muchness! - For this "much-have" red shimmer
Fun colors and some glitter, too. The mini pack is great for traveling, too.

Alice in Wonderland is one of our absolutely favorite childhood books. It will be interesting to see how director Tim Burton re-creates this magical story. And Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter? We can't wait!

Don't Come Up Smelling Like Roses? Try This Natural Deodorant Spray

Roses. If you like the beautiful scent, then this all natural beauty product is a win-win for you. And we have learned that actress Kate Hudson adores Waleda Wild Rose deodorant($15, 3.4 fl oz., at target.com, drugstore.com, Walgreens).

Just imagine......no more white, chalky residue left on your favorite black garments. Sure, we taught you last month on how to remove white deodorant marks (try rubbing an old pair of nylons over the white spots). But should we even have to work so hard to remove these ugly underarm marks?!

We swear, Waleda Wild Rose deodorant will not leave behind anything, but a lovely bouquet of rose-scented deodorant. And the beauty lies in the bottle. It's a spray pump! We love that. Just a few spritzes a day under the arms, and you're good to go. The wild rose scent evaporates and you come up smelling like roses. No odor!!

How does it work? It's formulated with natural stuff:
"Floral fragranced Weleda Wild Rose Deodorant, made with the purest essential oils, provides a feeling of freshness and well-being. The exquisite scents of Wild Rose and Neroli conbine with natural herbal odours caused by bacterial action. This natural formulation is free from antiperspirants such as Aluminum salts and does not interfere with the natural functions of the skin".

The key note to remember, however---Waleda is a deodorant, not an anti-perspirant. We haven't tried this yet, but we are concerned about its effectiveness to stop perspiration. But we have read a number of glowing customer reviews and some folks claim the Waleda doeodorant does keep them sweat-free.

For those with sensitive skin, this deodorant is kind and gentle. And we love the 'green' beauty of this natural product. Even the bottle it comes in, is a recyclable bottle with a non-aerosol pump.

How To Wear White Eye Shadow Because It's Snow Hot In 2010

This ain't your momma's white eye shadow, but the results are the same. Wearing a little bit of white along the eyes, can make them 'pop' and look instantly refreshed! And this is another hot trend, or shall we say, snow hot look for 2010!

The white eye makeup first showed up on the runways, where all fashion and beauty emerge. White was used to accent the brows, or to softly accentuate the eyes. And it was featured more graphically as white eyeliner, too. See the top photo.

It's not always an easy look to pull off, but you can transform your eyes from soft to edgy in a matter of seconds. It can take a bit of practice if you layer the look with black eye liner.

Celebrities have been wearing this snow hot trend since January....women like Rihanna, Whitney Port, Pink, Portia Doubleday, Jennifer Hudson, to name a few.

Of course, Rihanna has been rocking a harder edge to the white eye shadow, as you can see in photo 3. We think she looks gorgeous, and she's never afraid to take makeup to the next daring level. We also have to remember that famous women like Rihanna, have super makeup artists to create their beautiful looks.

Mylah Morales, who does Rihanna's makeup, told Us Weekly that, "Cream shadow is best. Using a wet brush, apply to each lid up to the brow bone and gently line under eyes."

We like photo 2, which shows a close-up of Portia Doubleday's pretty bllue eyes rockin' the white shadow. We like her look the best, because it is soft and more natural-looking. And yeah, her eyes really 'pop' with just a carefully smudged bit of shadow.

There are tons of white eye shadows out there, ladies, but we found you two from the best in the makeup business:

1. MAC eye shadow in Frost ($32). Has a lovely, icy shimmer.
2. NARS eye shadow in Night Snow ($23). Sheer white with a delicate silver glitter.

Sharon Stone Is Nuts About Tancho Stick For Taming Short Crop Hairstyle

Do you, er, tancho stick, ladies?!

Actress Sharon Stone does. That's one of her beauty secrets for making her short crop hairstyle always look gorgeous.

"I am nuts about the Tancho stick. It's a styling wax. It works better than anything else, but you have to use it sparingly. Just touch your finger on it and then touch your hair. It makes your hair stand up and gives great tousled texture. Then I spray dry shampoo or the Blondish Hair Powder from Bumble and Bumble. The powder sticks to the wax," Sharon explains.

Tancho Tique sticks from Indonesia are made from natural ingredients. It's an old-fashioned styling product that easily tames even the most unruly hair. The pomade has the pleasant scent of lavender.

Many stylists reach for the Tancho stick time and time again, because it imparts a wonderful texture to piece-y strands, especially for all you lovely short-cropped hair gals. And the wax stick also makes hair shiny. Just a little beauty reminder: Don't use too much Tancho, or you'll end up with a greasy head of hair. All you need is a dab on your fingertips and you're good to go!

The Tancho stick also smooths frizzy and curly hair edges.

Now, exactly where can you pick up this wonder hair stick? At Amazon.com, of course. We found it for $8.50 a stick.

Enjoy the Tancho and add some rock 'n roll style to your hair.

Exuviance Introduces New At Home Power Peel To Smooth Skin

Peel. Doing it to your skin, can produce a more radiant and youthful complexion. You need lots of patience and a skin routine to stick to. But chemical peels do work. And you can safely do them at home. Who doesn't want smooth skin?

And now the skin experts at Exuviance are introducing a new at home power peel, that you can easily do. Trust us, we have done 4 out of the 12 peels in the kit. And we love it!

It's called the Exuviance Performance Peel AP25 ($60, kit). The kit contains 12 peels which can be used up to twice a week on the face, chest, and back of hands, where aging from the sun and environment initally appears.

The peels (a 6-week supply) contain a 25% blend of AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and PHA (Polyhydroxy Acid) along with Glycolic Acid, Mandelic Acid, and Gluconolactone.

The Exuviance Performance Peel AP25 is a high performer, so at home users can get very good results. What chemical peels do, is exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. The dead and dull skin cells are dissolved away. And this action stimulates the process of cell renewal, making way for healthier, more radiant skin.

The clinical results are in after one month of twice-weekly use:
100% noticed improvement of fine lines and wrinkles.
94% noticed more even skin tone, texture, and radiance.

So far, we are enjoying our experience with Exuviance's new power peel. We decided to apply the peel along our decollete area. That's the area right below the neck and right above the chest. Oh yeah, that's where we used to slather baby oil and sit under the hot sun for hours, never realizing the damage we were doing. And now, tiny sun spots have created a maze of little trails across our decollete. And we are trying to halt the progression.

We really like the Exuviance Performance Peel AP25 kit. It's goof-proof. Inside, you get 12 pre-packaged peel pads, 12 pre-packaged neutralizer pads, and an extra peel pad for testing your skin's sensitivity, and easy-to-follow instructions.

If you've never peeled before, we can tell you, it's not that bad. It does feel like your skin is burning off, but only if you do a very advanced peel. But the folks at Exuviance have designed a pleasant at home experience. There is tingling when the peel is applied and some mild burning. This is to be expected. After you apply the neutralizer and rinse the area thoroughly with water, you will notice how very smooth your skin feels. And that is the reward of a peel.

For more details, visit Exuviance, a NeoStrata company.

Model Gisele Bundchen Gets Back Skinny Body By Working Out In Pool

Gisele Bundchen. Super long legs on a size 4 frame. Who wouldn't want her beautiful body?!
A baby boy named Benjamin arrives in December......and already, the model from Brazil is back in supermodel shape.

Her secret? Water resistance. Working out in a pool. It's called the Brazilian Body Surf program, and Gisele was reportedly doing the surf during her pregnancy. Smart girl! At least that is what the Boston Herald was reporting.

What exactly is the Brazilian Body Surf? According to the website Equinox, it's a combination of cardiovascular and muscle conditioning drills taught using water resistance.

Gisele's personal trainer is Leandro Carvalho. And he told the Herald, that Gisele was active to begin with, which can only help a woman's body bounce back from pregnancy. She was in "very, very" good shape throughout her pregnancy, in part due to the "very athletic" workouts, which he believes are super for muscle tone.

When we've seen photos of Gisele with her husband Tom Brady, quarterback for the New England Patriots, the couple always seem to be at the beach, in the water. Gisele isn't afraid to get her hair wet.

The supermodel also does yoga and meditation, which served her well during the labor and birthing process. And according to Quem, a Brazilian magazine, Gisele was back on her feet immediately. She was "washing the dishes and making pancakes" just two days after giving birth. Hmm. Sexy show-off.

Gisele didn't have much need for maternity fashions, either.
"I gained a little, but I kept using almost the same clothes, with minor adjustments to close in the belly," she told Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo Veja.

Yeah.....Don't hate her because she's beautiful....Gisele Bundchen was back at her old job just six weeks after giving birth, modeling for Brazilian fashion line Colcci (photo).

Now that's impressive.

Stylist Ted Gibson Shows You How To Make Messy Elegant Ponytail

Ladies....this ain't your childhood ponytail. And celebrity stylist Ted Gibson shows you how to make a messy, elegant ponytail for spring 2010. All you need to think is: texture. That is how you create the modern version.

Yes. Ponytails are hot!! And even trendier with a side-part. NYC's Ted Gibson of the Ted Gibson Salon made a bunch of ponytails at the recent NY Fashion Week Spring/Summer shows. We saw them at Lela Rose (photo), Jenni Kayne, and Vena Cava, to name a few.

The 'roughed up' ponytail as Ted Gibson also likes to call the new hair trend, is something unique that women can create at home. "You get a really interesting ponytail, rather than the same old version you always wear," Ted says.

You don't want to make your ponytail too high on the head. Location is key, according to Ted. "The ponytail is going to be in the middle of the head which is a little more playful," he explains.

To make the do, you should invest in a couple of products. And why not try Ted Gibson's hair line? To achieve the texture, he advises, applying Build It Blow Drying Agent ($20) on to dry hair and blow-drying, twisting the hair in small sections. After you build up the messiness, keep the look in place with Ted Gibson's Beautiful Hold Hairspray ($20, at Target.com).

You can also check out Ted Gibson here on YouTube backstage at the Vena Cava Spring 2010 show. He gives a really cool demo.
We're already liking this messy, elegant ponytail!

Alexa Ray Joel To Star In Prell Shampoo Ad Just Like Mom Christie 25 Years Ago

You could say Prell Shampoo is back in a big way. Alexa Ray Joel, the 24-year-old daughter of famous parents Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel, is set to star in TV and print ads for the iconic Proctor&Gamble shampoo.

Alexa Ray told the NY Post that she will also provide the soundtrack to the commercial.
"I am so excited and honored to be named the new face of Prell -- especially following in the footsteps of my mother, who was a Prell girl."
Oh yeah, mom Christie Brinkley starred in ads for Prell shampoo almost 25 years ago, in 1986. Both mom and daughter have healthy, beautiful long hair.

Many women know about Prell shampoo for 'lifting' hair color mistakes. The green, thick formula has been used for years by some hair care professionals and women who color their hair at home, to get rid of too-dark hair dye. The strong ingredients have been successful at toning down or fading the darkness, if you let the Prell sit in your hair for several minutes and use it within 48 hours of a hair color mistake.

Of course, Prell shampoo will be looking to amp up its public relations image with the famous daughter of Christie Brinkley. And we think it's a smart choice. As a spokesperson for Alexa Ray says, "This is Alexa's first ad campaign. It is for print and TV for spring and summer. We will also shoot a fall campaign."

Prell shampoo is available at drugstores and dept. stores like Walmart for $2.99 a bottle. And it's excellent also at getting rid of hair product build-up.

This is how P&G describes the famous shampoo:

Classic Prell Shampoo is an exclusive water-based formula that is designed specifically to leave your hair ultra clean. Prell's thick, rich lather gently lifts away daily build-up like residue, dirt, oil and perspiration and leaves your hair looking healthy and shiny. Classic Prell is alcohol free, so it cleans your hair without causing dryness. Plus, Prell rinses away easily, leaving you with healthy hair that is Prell clean and full of body and shine.

Congratulations, Alexa Ray. We look forward to the new ads this spring.

Oil Of Olay's Regenerist Micro-Purifying Foaming Cleanser Goes Deep

Here at Beauty Tip Today, we are always on the hunt for a cleanser that goes deep, and Oil of Olay's Regenerist line has introduced one that tackles a lot of skin issues.

It's called, Olay Regenerist Micro-Purifying Foaming Cleanser ($9.99, 6.7 oz., drugstores).

When it comes to beautiful skin, it's essential to deep clean your face and neck. What we like about Olay's Regenerist cleanser, is its advanced anti-aging properties included in the formula. It's important to note, that when you have deep-cleaned your face and neck, then the skin is prepared for the next phase of your beauty routine, be that of a moisturizer, a prescription retinoid, a chemical peel, and so on. If the skin is not totally free of grime and left-over makeup, then these other beauty treatments will not be able to penetrate the skin's layers as effectively.

Olay's Regenerist cleanser performs 3 key steps:
Deep cleans to the pore to remove even micro-particles.
Gently refreshes skin for a beautifully regenerated appearance.
Prepares skin for Regenerist Moisturizers and Treatments
.

Although we are not an Olay user, we have plenty of friends and relatives who believe in the Oil of Olay trademark. Many women trust this brand. And the Regenerist line, in particular, has received high marks from those in the beauty business. So we would be interested in trying the new Micro-Purifying Foaming Cleanser. We most definitely want a product that will remove all traces of makeup, grime, and oiliness, without stripping the complexion and leaving it too taut and dry.

Thumbs up to Olay's Regenerist for a cleanser that understands the meaning of deep clean.

Beauty Routine Of Olympic Gold Medal Skier Lindsey Vonn

Golden girl Lindsey Vonn is wearing some major Olympic hardware around her neck these days. Two medals--a gold and a bronze, so far, for the pretty downhill skier!

She's the talk of Vancouver....not only for her athletic prowess, but also for her sizzling Sports Illustrated bikini layout. And now that she's sporting Olympic gold around her neck, the all-American beauty will be seen all over the globe with lots of huge endorsements in the future.

"Lindsey is the total package from a marketability standpoint," Greg Luckman, president of the Manhattan-based Group M Entertainment told the NY Daily News a few days ago. "If at the end of this week she is wearing gold around her neck, she will undeniably propel to another level."

And we believe Mr. Luckman. The folks at Proctor & Gamble's Rouge magazine, have already asked golden girl Lindsey Vonn for some beauty tips:

For anyone active in outdoor sports, the elements can be cruel to the skin all over, as Lindsey admits:
"It's really, really hard; not only on your face, but my legs too, from going in and out of the cold and being in really dry climates. So Olay Body Wash plus Body Butter Ribbons is my go-to cleanser for my body. In the winter you get as much sunburn on your face as you do in the summer, so I'm always putting on a sunscreen. I also use Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream as my facial lotion."

So, what's Lindsey's daily beauty routine like? She's smart enough to know, a naked face is a no-no:
"I wash my face, exfoliate and moisturize. I always put on makeup even when I'm going on the hill. I use a light foundation, like Cover Girl Clean Oil Control Makeup and definitely mascara---I love LashBlast Length----and LineExact Liquid Liner. Just enough so that I don't feel naked."

The wind, cold, and sun, can all do a number on one's hair. Lindsey makes sure she gives her long, blonde locks some extra TLC:
"A lot of conditioner! My hair is like my skin, I have to keep it moisturized because it's constantly dry, so I use Pantene Pro-V Ice Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. It's a constant struggle because I'm in cold, dry temperatures, and then in summer I'm constantly working out."

Congratulations and thanks for some great beauty tips, Lindsey Vonn and Rouge magazine.

Chunky Hair Highlights Emerge At NY Fashion Week And Angelina Already Wearing

Ladies...Angelina Jolie knows this is a hot trend for spring/summer 2010. The beautiful, 34-year-old actress was already wearing some chunky highlights while in Italy a few days ago. Hers were a soft, honey blonde. But not for dark-haired gals. If your base color is a medium or light brown, then you're good to go!

If your hair is very dark, well, it can look 'skunk-y' if you go for too light a highlight.

Of course, blonde wasn't the only highlight shade on the runways for NY Fashion Week. There was a punk vibe being re-visited. Cynthia Rowley's show featured some light turquoise highlights woven throughout the models' hair. These were custom color hair extensions. And there were more bright, bold highlights in jewel colors like amethyst and emerald.

Best to go subtle, when it comes to highlights. And best to leave the job to the pros.

Think stripes this spring. You can get a totally new look with some chunky highlights. We wonder if Brad is loving Angie's new do! How could he not.

P.S. Angelina, Brad, and their adorable six kids are in Venice where mama Jolie is filming her new movie, The Tourist, alongside Johnny Depp. We're not sure if the chunky highlights are part of her movie character's appearance, but Angelina has changed her hair in the past for some juicy movie roles.

How Kelly Osbourne Is Keeping Weight Off In Cha-Cha-Cha Way

Kelly Osbourne has been the little darling of Fashion Week in New York City. And she has good reason. Kelly continues to keep the weight off and is wowing folks with her slender silhouette. She just modeled for super model Naomi Campbell in a Fashion for Relief Haiti show in Bryant Park. Just look at her in a shiny red dress. From Dancing with the Stars to the uber chic runway, Kelly Osbourne has cha-cha-cha-ed her way to a healthy and attractive new body.

So, exactly how has the offspring of famous rocker daddy, Ozzy, been successful at keeping the lbs. off? By moving.....staying active, and picking up better eating habits. Kelly was once a size 14. She's about 5' 3''.

"I’ve tried so many stupid fad diets to try to lose weight, when all I needed to do was start dancing,” Kelly wrote in a column for British magazine 'Closer'.

Kelly continues to cha-cha-cha and has also added Pilates to her work-out routine, according to an interview she gave to Life & Style magazine.

"Pilates is amazing, my posture is so much better and I'm even starting to get muscles on my tummy - it's incredible," Kelly says.

As far as her diet goes, Kelly Osbourne tells the magazine, that she had to create a new one.

"I've completely changed the way I eat since doing Dancing With The Stars," she says.
For instance, a half an apple is the natural sugar Kelly enjoys snacking on before heading to bed at night.

"A trick I've learned is to eat just a little bit of something that has no carbs and no sugar in it before you go to sleep because it keeps your metabolism going.

"They say you should never eat before you go to bed, but I've found just having a tiny little snack - like half an apple or something like that - before you go to sleep really helps," Kelly Osbourne
explains.

And instead of having "10 sodas a day, I'll have one," Kelly has told In Touch magazine.

And she also says it's not about the number of lbs. one loses. Do not compare yourself to others. "All these people worry, 'Oh I have to be under 100 lbs.,' but everyone has a different shape."
Kelly also says to keep a positive frame of mind. "I find that when I get depressed, that's when I gain it all back. But as soon as I start working and I'm productive and I start feeling good about myself, the weight just goes."

Load Up On Lots Of Bracelets For Spring 2010 Style

Bracelets. And lots of them for spring 2010 style.

Nicole Richie is wearing some gorgeous bracelets from her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry collection.

Talk about arm candy! From bangles to cuffs, in multiple numbers. Chunky bracelets are so in style!

We especially love her 14KT Gold-Plated Red Cabochon Stone Bangle ($180). Talk about a statement piece. The bangle is made from 14KT Gold-Plated Palladium. And look at the pretty red stones and black crystals around the band. We want this.

Nicole Richie has a smart sense of style, and she adores baubles and gems of all kinds. We think her House of Harlow 1960 jewelry is wonderful and sophisticated with a modern edge. You can find her jewelry at several online boutiques like Polyvore and fine stores like Bloomingdales.

Nicole Richie also has a very chic clothing line, Winter Kate. To her, fashion and jewelry should share a common bond:
“Fashion should be accessible,” Nicole says. “That was my philosophy when designing House of Harlow 1960 and it remains my philosophy for Winter Kate.”

We like that about Nicole Richie's business endeavors. The designs are classy and affordable, and Nicole is proud to wear the jewelry and clothing in public, unlike some celebrities who want to make a fast buck on a line, and have no desire to even wear the stuff.

And we have warmed up to Nicole Richie's darker hair. Actually, we prefer it to her trademark blonde mane. She looks beautiful.

There's been a lot of buzz about a makeup line called Motives by Loren Redinger. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian are said to be fans, and if Kim likes a cosmetics brand, then we know it's of great quality. Kim K loves putting on her face and she always looks high glam and flawless.

So, let's take a look. Loren Redinger, pictured above, has a super product---her foundation. It's called Motives Liquid Powder Foundation ($24.95). This little number seems to have a cult following. It's very popular and there are reasons for it.

First, her foundation has an SPF15. That's important. It comes in 10 shades. The foundation contains micro diffusers, which keep skin looking perfect. And Motives Liquid Powder Foundation feels really smooth and light on the face. You can sweat in it, and it still looks fresh and flawless.

Amazing Hair Care Products For Women Of Color

A friend of ours recently asked us to write an article on the delicate hair care needs of African-American women and other ladies of color.

And that mission has brought us to a wonderful website, treasuredlocks. We were blown away by the variety of hair products with very informative descriptions, as well as a 'Reading Room' on the site, where one can find super hair tips on styling and caring for your 'treasured locks.'

Ask any woman about their hair, and well, if you're having a good day, it's because your hair is looking fine. When your hair looks lousy, it can upset the balance in your life.

We have always admired Diana Ross and her beautiful, big hair. We don't know if it were all her hair, but it doesn't matter, because she could always pull off that look. She had an incredible mane. Little did we know that black hair is very fragile and needs lots of TLC, or tender loving care, to encourage its maximum growth potential. And that is where we found a bounty of hard-to-find brands and even Treasured Locks' line of hair products.

Let's take a look at Treasured Locks' own H2G Hair Growth Serum ($19.99, 4 oz. bottle). We were drawn to this product, because it contains emu oil, which scientific data shows has such promise in stimulating hair growth. Emu oil is able to penetrate through several layers of the dermis, and is good for the scalp, and discourages inflammation.

This is how the website describes their H2G Hair Growth Serum:
"While nothing can give you instantly longer hair, there are ways to maximize the amount of hair you have. By keeping your scalp healthy, maintaining the proper moisture and oil balance on your hair and getting the proper nutrition, you can make sure your hair grows at its maximum rate and does not break off. This is the secret to long and strong hair.
Treasured Locks H2G Hair Growth Serum is a blend of all natural ingredients scientifically proven to promote longer, healthier hair. Made from the highest quality Emu oil (AEA food grade certified), naturally extracted carrier oils and a proprietary blend of the finest quality, steam-distilled essential oils, our serum is unlike any other on the market."

Tywana Smith owns and operates TreasuredLocks.com. She talks about her company in her 'AboutUs ' page:
"Our policy is to only offer products we have extreme confidence in. Most of the products you see here are products we use on a regular basis. Our goal is to continue to develop the company to meet your needs. So, please tell me what you like and what you don't like. If there is a product you need and you don't see it here, tell me and I'll see if I can get it for you."

TreasuredLocks.com also sells makeup, skin care products, bath and body items, and also features a men's section.

Victoria Beckham's Spring 2010 Fashion Line Is Actually Posh

Victoria Beckham might have her critics, but we, here at Beauty Tip Today, actually find her quite charming and personable. No, we have never met her, but we do like her. And we like that she is beauty and fashion-conscious, and loves to shop.
We also thought she made a fine judge during her few appearances at the American Idol try-outs. But what has really made us adore Victoria Beckham is her great sense of style. We were stunned at how good a fashion designer she is. And we are not alone. Celebrities like Courtney Cox Arquette wore a lovely black gown from Victoria's dVb Spring 2010 line at the Golden Globes awards show. And a couple of weeks later, Jennifer Hudson wowed fans at the Grammy's wearing a sophisticated black peplum dress from the dVb Spring line.

This is Victoria Beckham's third collection, and she chose to show it earlier last September to small groups of retailers and editors. "This is my third collection, and I wanted to push myself, but I also wanted to be respectful of my customer,” Victoria Beckham says. “I want her to know she can rely on me.”

She also sells jeans and sunglasses in the Spring 2010 dVb line. We must say, her collection is elegant and well, actually posh, so to speak.
