Emmy Rossum's Diet + Fitness Tips For A Healthy Body
Sure, she is slender to begin with, but she doesn't appear to be obsessed with wanting to be reed-thin. In fact, she had to shed a tiny 6 lbs. from her small frame for a new movie role. But she just didn't diet it away. Emmy worked out a lot, and had this interesting look at body image, as she told Self mag:
"Right now I'm probably in the best shape that I've ever been in, although I don't consider "best shape" to necessarily mean the skinniest," she explained.
"I've been fatter and I've been skinnier than I am right now, but I'm more at peace than ever."
The diet was tough, as she was limited to only 1,500 calories a day, but she found healthy ways to cheat 2 days a week:
"I'd eat a steak and fries, an ice cream sundae and then go to Pinkberry. Of course, then I'd wake up the next morning and go, 'Oh, great, I'm eating one poached egg and a green apple. Shoot me in the face.' But it was totally worth it. Now I can gain back those 6 pounds that I had lost to do the movie."
Emmy Rossum proves that everyone has to work-out to get a good body:
"When I want to drop weight quickly, I cut back on my cardio and do a lot of weights instead," she said.
"I also cut out all fruit and eat a lot of protein and vegetables. My go-to moves are walking lunges, leg raises, and my favorite: four sets of 15 ballet pliés, holding 8-pound weights."
We do the ballet plies holding 7 lb. weights in each hand. These plies really WORK!
Great for the butt!
See the photo below. Now, assume the position and hold the 2 weights down by your sides. So, you are bending, and rising. If you're doing it correctly the legs + butt will feel it. Hope that explains it!
