Dry-Brushing Body Helps Battle Cellulite And Smooth Skin

Dry-brushing. Cellulite.
What exactly is it? And what does ' it' have to do with cellulite.....the dimpled fat you find on your butt, thighs, belly, and even on your arms???
Summer isn't far away, and that means bare skin, bikinis, short-shorts, well, you get the picture. So, it's never too early or too late to begin a body beautiful program.
And our beauty tip today is actually a very simple one to add to your daily beauty routine.
We came across dry-brushing years ago, when we first learned about the most intelligent cellulite professor, Anushka. She was the dimpled fat pioneer. She was the first woman to openly discuss the problem of cellulite and how to tone down its appearance and fight back.
Cellulite is a skin condition of swollen fat cells jammed together, that cannot be exercised off or dieted away into nothingness. Of course, a taut and toned body will definitely make a difference in how you look. So it is important to always have some kind of exercise regimen going.
Circulation is key!! And that's where dry-brushing comes in.Anushka who operates world-renown Cosmedical Centre, Spa, Salon & Cellulite Clinics in New York City, has been an authority on cellulite and its prevention for more than 3 decades. And her wonderful website AnushkaOnline features cellulite treatments, target exercises, nutritional recipes, the ABC's of cellulite, and more.
Circulation, diet, and topical treatments can all help tone down cellulite and bring back smooth, taut skin.
1. Keep moving.....Anushka is a firm believer in taking a large natural bristle brush, and using the brush daily to give those areas special attention. “Dry brushing helps eliminate dead skin cells which make the skin look smoother. And it also improves lymph and blood circulation. I recommend a soft, natural bristle brush. Start at your feet and continue upwards in a circular motion towards the heart. Use once a day.”
Plus, you get the added benefits of exfoliation. Your skin will really look smoother and healthier.
Dry-brush right before your shower. And then apply some wonderful and high-tech Anushka cellulite serums to further tone your body and prevent fluid retention.
You can purchase a Natural Bristle Cellulite Brush by Anuska ($9.00) here.Back by popular demand, her "natural bristle brush wakes up microcirculation, gets rid of the rough stuff and prepares skin for application of Anushka cellulite products."
Hey, it's a super way to 'wake up' your body. And a simple extra step to add to your beauty routine.

Lauren Conrad Lets Hair Down By Admitting To Extensions
Love Lauren Conrad? Who doesn't.She seems to have it all. She's a beautiful, kind, glamorous gal, a writer, a designer, a TV star, and a head full of extensions.
That's right. Those long, wavy blonde locks are fake. And, yeah, we certainly appreciate Lauren Conrad's honesty. At age 24, she's a breath of fresh air.
In the May issue of Glamour(out on newsstands tomorrow), Lauren Conrad lets her hair down. "These are all extensions." she explains, "I chopped all my hair off to my shoulders. I thought I was doing a chic bob. It was so bad."
So what, many of you might be saying. Lots of celebrities wear hair extensions.
True, but how many of them admit to having fake hair. Extensions have become so sophisticated and hair high-tech these days, that it's not always easy to tell who's got the faux strands and who does not.
Jessica Simpson has worn hair extensions quite frequently in her career, and has been unafraid to admit it. She's also lucky to have made some major profits by hooking up with her stylist Ken Paves, who sells a line of both human hair and synthetic hair extensions with Jessica's name.
If you crave having long sexy hair and aren't sure about the commitment of extensions, you can try clip-ons by Ken Paves. That way, you can instantly 'grow' a set of bangs or a pony tail wrap with a quick clip-on. If you tire of them, simply un-clip. A lot cheaper than salon hair extensions.
Lauren Conrad also admits to one other common beauty problem, in her interview with Glamour. "I’ve never felt a push to be stick thin,” Lauren says. "I work out and eat healthy, so mostly it’s about being in shape and having energy." The star suggests she's okay with her less than perfect body. "About a year ago, I looked down and thought, ‘I have cellulite. Where did that come from?’ I went through treatments; [my body] was like, It’s not going anywhere."
We love Lauren Conrad and her honesty. To read the full interview, pick up the May issue of Glamour April 6th.

Snooki Style Update: Red Highlights Added But Big Poof Still On

In your 20's:
2. Play up your lips. Sandy advises to go with the dark lipstick and super shiny glosses now, because when you get older, lips lose volume, and a deeper tone can be aging.
3. Don't skip foundation. "Even beautiful skin can benefit from it," Sandy say. "It's corrective."

So April showers will come and go, and this time around, you'll be prepared.Frizz. Exactly what is it? Frizz is breakage that occurs in wavy or curly hair. And the frizzies can occur through sloppy styling.....like brushing through hair when wet. And razor cuts can also develop frizz after a while. Perms and harsh color processing can also result in a head full of frizzies. We are all prone to some sort of frizz. But remember, being gentle with hair styling and a good trim every 4-6 weeks helps a lot. Also rinse hair after shampooing in cool water to smooth cuticles.
Meantime, there are so many super products out there to help control or tone down the frizz. We've all known about the power in John Frieda's Frizz-Ease products that have been around for ages. These are extremely popular because they work. And now, we are happy the label has added 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners in their frizz fighting arsenal:

3. Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo. (The Hydration duo treats hair that is frizzy and dying for moisture).
4. Smooth Start Hydrating Conditioner.
The new John Frieda Smooth Start line has special ingredients like silk protein and lipids that help lock in moisture. These shampoos and conditioners create healthy hair by filling in the cuticles to boost body and shine.

More Smart And Sensible Beauty Tips By Cindy Crawford
Cindy Crawford. Most people know her from her supermodel days. But she is also a busy mother of two, and a woman in her 40s, keeping her beauty look together. We like Cindy Crawford, because she is an intelligent woman who gets it. She never took herself too seriously during her days before the camera and the catwalk. So, today, we have more smart and sensible beauty tips by Cindy, tips she gave to the April issue of InStyle magazine.
For her daytime look, Cindy keeps it simple and sleek. A great pair of jeans 'that make your butt look good,' a little foundation, mascara, brown eye shadow, nude lipstick, and some jewelry, and she's good to go.
1. Brown eye shadow. Cindy Crawford says that brown is your best friend. "It's less harsh than black, it goes with everything, and it's impossible to mess up. For day, I do variations of brown shadow, either matte or shimmer."
2. Nude lips. Yes, the look is very polished when you can nail the right tone. "A neutral mouth looks really sophisticated, but you have to pick your color carefully so you don't look washed out. I like beigy pinks that are one shade darker than my natural skin tone. I almost always wear gloss, and save lipstick for special occasions."
3. Jewelry. It's the perfect finishing touch, according to Cindy. "Jewelry, like mascara or lipstick, completes your look." Cindy has her own jewelry line called One Kiss, and her pieces are meant to be worn every day like makeup. One Kiss debuts at JC Penney at the end of April.
4. Take care of your skin. Cindy advises SPF protection during the day and a good night cream when you retire for the evening.
5. Exfoliate at least once a month. Cindy is a strong believer in microdermabrasion facials every month and continues the exfoliating at home. "I use a gentle scrub or buff puff to clean my makeup out of the nooks and crannies so my pores don't get clogged.
6. Ballet Flats. Stylish and comfortable, and these classic shoes go with everything, Cindy says.

Do You Like Jennifer Love Hewitt's New Breakup Bob?!

Breakup Bob. That's what People magazine is calling Jennifer Love Hewitt's new haircut. Do you like it? We do.The 31-year-old Ghost Whisperer actress recently broke up with longtime love Jamie Kennedy, and if you believe therapy theories about chopping off hair after a love split, well, maybe there's some truth to it.
Remember this:...I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair...." This time, Jennifer Love Hewitt is actually cutting that man loose from her hair. And let's be frank here. Most of the hair Jennifer had cut were really long hair extensions. And we're pleased that she's gone back to her natural, darker hair color, too.
We are tired of seeing all these Hollywood beauties with the same cookie cutter, super long and wavy hair extensions. Enough! We wish the Kardashian sisters would all chop off a few inches from their really long hairstyles and try something new. Same with Gisele Bundchen. Denise Richards. Jessica Simpson.
Jennifer Love Hewitt's bob is actually a LOB, or a grown out bob with long layers. And that is a hot look right now. She was photographed outside her Brentwood, California home over the weekend.
Does a short haircut cure a heartbreak? Who knows. Jennifer seems to have taken the high road, when talking about her ex:
"It was a mutual decision and we've parted as friends. There's no anger, there's no upset, there's no enemies."
"It's been totally fine. It's really a testament to who he is and to who I am. We're both grown-ups."
