Ouidad Brings Out Big Double Detangler To Comb Through Curls

Ouidad is a beauty company that knows all about curly hair. In fact, that is all they sell---- products for curly locks.

And we have to say, we were quite intrigued by one of their newest beauty tools, the Ouidad Double Detangler Comb ($24).

This double-sided comb has been designed to glide through your curls quickly and safely. In other words, no tugging or breakage.

According to their website, the Double Detangler Comb works because of these clever aspects:

Double Rows of teeth eliminate difficult knots and prevent curls from springing back and re-tangling
Longer Teeth reach through the most dense curly hair
Fewer Combing Strokes help curls remain defined and frizz-free
Spaced teeth are just the right width for detangling knots
Rounded Tips on teeth are soft on the scalp

There's just one little problem we see with this big, double comb. And that is its size. It's huge!! We're not kidding. Here are the dimensions:

The comb measures approx. 9-1/2"L x 1"W x 2-1/2"H and is made of sturdy plastic.

The reviews we read at a few online shopping sites that sell the Ouidad Double Detangler Comb, were favorable, but several complained about the big size of the comb and its heavy weight. However, those loving the Detangler, also spoke about its styling efficiency and how easily the comb can get through wild, thick, wet curls.

Best Boxes Of At Home Hair Color That Fade Less And Cover Gray

We have written several articles about hair color, salon pros, and at home color kits over the past year.

Coloring hair is a challenge at most levels, and yet, if you aren't attempting a 2-color process, strategically-placed highlights, or changing up your locks to a new, bold shade of red, then you can use at home hair color. And we have found you the brands that work the best.

Famous stylists like Frederic Fekkai, and many others, have recently introduced their signature at-home brands of hair color for women to try.

So, if you are just interested in covering grays and roots, or just enhancing your natural shade, you can stop off at your local drugstore and pick up a box of at home hair color.

And let's take a look at the Best At Home Hair Color Boxes. Thanks to the September issue of Good Housekeeping magazine, the folks there tested a bunch of leading at home hair color brands on swatches. And these are the boxes that faded less and covered gray perfectly:

Permanent Color:

Clairol Nice 'n Easy ($8) in Natural Dark Neutral Blonde tied with Revlon Colorsilk ($3.69) in Ultra Light Natural Blonde.

Both brands were so-so in covering gray. But both boxes were excellent at resisting fading and retaining shine.

Revlon Colorsilk ($3.69) in auburn shade Burgundy, scored high for its gray coverage and shine retention. Fading is common with red dye, and this brand did well after 4 weeks of washing, drying, and sun exposure.

Clairol Nice 'n Easy Perfect 10 ($14) in Light Auburn, was the runner-up. Covered grays perfectly, but shine and color fading were fair.

Semi-Permanent Color

Clairol Natural Instincts ($9) in both Cinnaberry and Brown colors did very well. Great coverage, shine, and fade resistance. The blond shades did not cover grays as well.

Runner-up L'Oreal ColorSpa Moisture Actif ($6.49) in Chestnut Reddish Brown had very nice gray coverage and shine, The blonde and brown hues gave lots of shine, but didn't hide grays as well as the others.

Revlon Colorsilk ($3.69) in Dark brown scored excellently. Super shine, covered grays perfectly, and resisted fading.

Runner-up L'Oreal Excellence creme ($9) in Medium Brown performed almost perfectly with just slight fading after a month of washing, drying, and sun exposure.

Dara Torres' Butt Exercise And Fitness Tips That Work

About a year ago, Beauty Tip Today wrote an article about Olympian swimming champion Dara Torres.

We talked about Dara's rock-solid abs and body at age 42. And one year later, she still maintains that enviable physique by constantly 'moving.'

Here's what we learned in a recent interview with the multiple Olympian medal winner from
"It doesn't have to be a purposeful workout, you just need to get out there and move, even if it's just a brisk daily walk. Exercise not only makes you feel younger, it relieves stress, and you automatically look better. It's a win-win." Dara Torres explains.

And we love that Dara is sharing a super butt exercise with us. We all love a high, round, firm butt. And we all know how hard that is to sculpt after 35. But Dara claims this one will deliver:

"My behind needs a little extra attention, and I swear by this move: Prop a small stability ball up against a wall. Lie on your back facing the ball with your butt against it, arms at sides, feet on ball, knees apart. Lift your butt, hold for a beat as your bring knees together and then lower to start. Do three sets of 15 reps."

We are also including diet tips from Dara Torres from our article last August.

Her favorite meal:
"A mixed green salad, turkey-spinach lasagna, garlic bread and green beans. My favorite cookbook is one I got in college—Where’s Mom Now That I Need Her?"

And yeah, you can cheat, Dara says:

"It’s OK to have bites of food that probably aren’t the best for you because that way you won’t deprive yourself and then want more of that food. I eat what I want, when I want, but I exercise so I can do that."

More Dara diet tips here. Check this out:

Jennifer Aniston Recipient Of Boob Jab To Increase Bust?

Here we go again. Actress Jennifer Aniston is rumored to have undergone a new cosmetic procedure called Macrolane injections. Or in layman's terms, a boob jab. A quick 'lunchtime procedure.'

The injections actually consist of fillers, almost similar to what people now have injected into their faces for volume.

And that is what the 40-year-old actress is rumored to have done.......add subtle volume and uplift to her breasts, and therefore, increase her bosom a whole cup size!

The gossip has already been around for years about Jennifer having breast implants. Many Hollywood beauties resort to implants, so that would not seem unusual. But is it possible if one has breast implants, to also safely receive Macrolane injections? Hmmm, good question.

Let's take a closer look at boob jabs or Macrolane injections. The gossip first got started in London at the Daily Mail. Folks in the UK and across Europe have nick-named these non-surgical procedures as boob jabs.

The perkier silhouette, however, is not permanent. The look will last about 18 months, and then you have to, er, fill up again, so to speak. Hey, at least it doesn't involve serious surgery.

Here's how the half hour procedure works:

A local anesthetic is applied. Then a thick needle containing Macrolane filler is injected deep into the breast tissue (ouch!). The filler itself contains hyaluronic acid (similar to that found in dermal facial fillers). It is a thick, dense fluid.

The only drawback we could find, is that some patients develop hard lumps after a few days. In other words, the body is sensing a 'foreign object' inside the breast, and tissue forms around it, fencing it in.

Meantime, we don't know how safe a boob jab procedure is. And we surely don't know if Jennifer Aniston has received one. The actress tends to get headlines for everything she does these days. Folks are watching her every move. Kind of difficult to live in a fish bowl that way.

What we do know, is that at age 40, Jennifer Aniston looks lovely and youthful with a body better than most women half her years. More power to her.

Witch Hazel Stinky But Delivers Naturally Smooth Skin

If you can get past the stinky smell, nature's ancient witch hazel, makes a very nice astringent or toner for the skin.

What exactly is witch hazel? Or its
scientific names: Hamamelis viginiana ?

We were curious about that, too, so we dug a little and found out that witch hazel is a plant. And a very useful one, according to http://www.drugs.com/:

Witch hazel is a deciduous bush or small tree that is found throughout most of North America. It has broad, toothed oval leaves, and golden yellow flowers. Brown fruit capsules appear after the flowers. The dried leaves, bark, and twigs are used medicinally.

Witch hazel water is the most commonly found commercial preparation, usually kept in most homes as a topical cooling agent or astringent.

Most people use witch hazel after facial cleansing. All you need to do is rub a cotton ball of witch hazel over your face, and enjoy a cool breeze. It is soothing and kind to sensitive skin. It relieves redness and swelling. And something in it, delivers back smooth, clear skin.

Many acne sufferers have tried witch hazel after their complexions refused to respond to expensive prescription acne drugs and over-the-counter blemish-free products. And the results have been excellent.

Dickinson's has been selling witch hazel since 1866. And the company boasts that their product offers "exceptional cleansing, soothing, and healing properties" as an herbal extract.

And the stuff is economical. For under $5, you can get a 16 oz. bottle. Just hold your nose. The smell isn't pretty.

Yes, You Can Wear Violet And Plum Lipsticks. Really.

Visions of plum, violet, lilac, purple, and amethyst, are dancing in the heads of designers and makeup artists for fall 2009.

These bold and sometimes subtle shades have been seen on the runways, on the streets, and on young celebrities like Drew Barrymore, and across to the UK on the lips of Peaches Geldof. Mac, Smashbox, and Dior have all stocked their shelves with violet hues.

Lately, it's all about the lips. Violet and plum are very popular at the moment. And yes, you can wear these different shades of lipstick. You just have to experiment and find the color that flatters your skin tone.

And just one, little purple reminder: Violet and Plum lipsticks, unfortunately, can make your teeth look yellow. Yes, it's true, especially with certain lilac shades. So choose your purple lipcolor carefully. Avoid purples with brown in them. Choose purple lipsticks with blue undertones, and then your teeth will pop with whiteness.

As far as makeup goes, choose the softer route. In other words, pair your nice violet lips with black mascara and some rose blush.

Meantime, here are a few purple shades to try this Fall 2009
:
1. Dior Diorific Lipstick No. 018, Violet Twist, $28, http://www.dior.com/.
2. Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick , Yummy Plummy $7.50, http://www.cvs.com/.
3. Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick, Plum Amethyst, $20, http://www.esteelauder.com/.

According to the folks at Maybelline's, Great Lash Big, accomplishes these beauty steps:

The Great Big Brush provides a bigger, bolder lash effect
Great buildable formula still conditions as it thickens with even greater intensity

We admit. We often look to glamorous celebrities to give us a heads up on fashion trends and style.
Today, we're wrapping ourselves in colorful scarves and pashminas.

And many of us really enjoy when an attractive celeb is working the casual look, and not the red carpet.

Why?

Because that is when we get to observe celebrity style that is not over the top. We see glam women like Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, Rachel Bilson, Kim Kardashian, and others wearing clothes we often appear in.....a white tee shirt, jeans, camisole, cardigan, etc.

For Fall 2009 beauty, why not wrap yourself up in an easy, yet stylish scarf or pashmina wrap?

Look Polished For Fall With The Retro Moon Manicure

Burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese has been ahead of the trend on this one, for quite a while now. Check out her sexy nails. She is queen of the moon manicure. The retro moon mani is big this fall 2009.

Think of it as a reverse French manicure. It's basically a two-tone paint job. Dita Von Teese is sporting scarlet nails and leaving a small white crescent at the nail bed. Very dramatic and clean. And this trend was actually quite popular back in the 1920s when glamorous movie stars began wearing this interesting manicure.

The moon manicure has been featured on some of the fall runways, and the Dior show really catapulted the look onto the mainstream fashion pulse.

The moon manicure can be quite bold in black and white, as pictured here, courtesy of Instyle.com. And their directions follow on how to create your own moon mani.

STEP 1 Apply one coat of opaque white (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail color in Whirlwind White) over the entire nail and wait for the polish to dry completely.

STEP 2 Using a semicircular French-manicure stencil sticker (Orly French Manicure Tip Guides), block off the bottom third of your nail.

STEP 3 Paint two coats of black ( Essie nail polish in Licorice) from the stencil to the tip of the nail. Once it dries, peel off the sticker and finish with a shine-enhancing top coat over the entire nail.

And here's yet another example of the retro moon manicure. Nails are painted dark red, and the bottom crescent is left naked and a clear top coat is later applied to the whole nail.

We happen to think this is a very sophisticated, lovely look for nails for fall 2009.

Women Here Begging For Pond's Age Miracle Cream Big In The Philippines

Remember Pond's cold cream?

Well, we've heard lots and lots of good beauty gossip about Pond's these days. And this ain't your grandmother's little jar of Pond's.

Women here in the US have been begging parent company, Unilever, to sell to us, what the lovely ladies of the Philippines already know. And that is, there's something special in Pond's Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Cream.

Deirdre Gonzales, a business entreprenuer from Cebu City Philippines, now based in Florida, wrote an article about the Pond's day cream, which has become one of the most popular skin care treatments in the Philippines:

".......considered today as one of the most popular beauty products in the Philippines as well as in other countries. The brand is the ponds age miracle cream. The ponds age miracle cream uses some of the most technologically advanced formulations that specifically target the 7 signs of skin aging, which are fine lines and wrinkles which are usually seen on the eyes and on the forehead, rough skin texture, uneven skin tone which is usually the result of sun or UV rays, skin dullness, visible pores, blotches or age spots, and dryness of the skin. Through targeting these signs, the ponds age miracle cream is known to stop the aging process."

The Pond's Age Miracle Cream was also featured on the Tyra Banks talk show last February, where it was labeled 'Asia's cult dream,' and, "it's a # 1 seller, the most awarded and it's beaten prestige brands in blind tests. The cream is one of the best kept beauty secrets of the east. "

And women have been going wild trying to track some down, ever since.

Who wouldn't want to rub some onto their skin? Unfortunately, Unilever has not made the Pond's cream available in the United States at this time.

But there is always Ebay.com, folks. And yes, Ebay sells a number of Pond's Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Creams. Most come in at under $20, with a $10 shipping fee. Look here:http://tiny.cc/hRClU

We have not tried this so-called miracle in a jar, but many Asian women seem to adore the product.

If you have tried this Pond's Age Cream, please leave us a few comments. We are curious to learn how well the cream works.

Cheryl Burke Loves Sexy Hair's Soy Renewal Treatment

Cheryl Burke, 2-time champion of Dancing With The Stars, has some great moves.

And also, beautiful hair that moves.

You really notice Cheryl Burke's hair as she glides and twists and turns on the ballroom dance floor. It bounces, shines, and never loses it healthy shape.

And now, Cheryl has become a fan of Sexy hair's new Soy Renewal Nourishing Styling Treatment ($19.95, 4.2 oz, at drugstores).

What we find wonderful about this moisture-rich beauty treatment are its top 2 ingredients:

Argan oil and soy protein.

We learned recently, that shiny-haired Salma Hayek also uses styling products that contain super anti-oxidant argan oil.

Argan oil and soy protein sound like greasy ingredients, but surprisingly, they are not.

Argan Oil is a quick absorber. And you can use it on dry or wet hair. It reduces blow-drying time, while leaving hair looking polished and frizz-free. The Argan Oil not only conditions hair, but also helps to stop damage from heat styling and the outdoor elements. The oil improves elasticity and reduces breakage.

Soy Renewal restores natural luster without adding a heavy feel to the locks or leaving behind oily residue.

Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Nourishing Styling Treatment can be used as a daily treatment or as a deep treatment hair mask.

Trust us, you might not be able to dance as beautifully as Cheryl Burke, but your hair will look great.

Nars and Marc Jacobs Team Up For Autumn 2009 Fashion Week

"Makeup shouldn't always be so serious," Francois Nars once said.

And his makeup collection for Autumn 2009 clearly illustrates the need for fun, sexiness, and innocence.

After a 10 year hiatus, François Nars is back on the fashion runway. And the well-respected makeup artist returned in a big way, by leading the makeup direction for Marc Jacobs’ Autumn/Winter 2009 show. That meant working with 65 models, and creating 65 different makeup looks. Wow!

So what's his look for fall 2009?

Francois Nars explains his vision at his cosmetics website:
"I wanted a collection that reflected the modern woman - very fragile and strong at the same time. The Fall colors can be used in a multitude of ways; to create strong eyes and muted lips, or the opposite, pale eyes and a strong pout. I don’t tell women what to wear; I provide different options for them to choose from."
This is a strong and edgy Nars Autumn 2009 makeup collection, as he so beautifully demonstrates in his portrait of model Heather Marks.

Black shadow laid the foundation for creating the dramatic eye, to which the artists added cobalt blues, deep greens, bright purples, reds, fuchsias, and glitter. “There is a wide variety of color,” said François Nars. “You want to play with makeup. Makeup is a great accessory - that is the message.”

Take a look at just a few of the bold and beautiful shades included in Francois Nars' Autumn 2009 makeup collection.

And check out his video, where you can learn more about the colors in this fall palette:

Glamour Mag Shows World What Real Women Look Like

Glamour magazine would like you to meet 20-year-old Lizzi Miller. And apparently, the fashion mag's readers have been blown away by Lizzi Miller's beauty and real-life-size proportions.

Glamour has featured the plus-size model on page 194 of their September issue. She wears a size 12-14. And the magazine wants women to feel comfortable in their skin.

So, does the photograph bother you? Do her rolls of fat make you uncomfortable? According to Glamour's editor-in-chief Cindi Leive, the emails have been very, very positive.

One reader called the shot "the most amazing photograph I've ever seen in any women's magazine." Another says, "I wanted to shout from the rooftops!"

We think the photo is quite beautiful, and model Lizzi Miller is really touched by the wonderful response:

Lizzi's loving it. "When I read them I got teary-eyed!" she says. "I've been that girl, flipping through magazines trying to find just one person who looked a little bit like me. And when I didn't find it I would start to think there's something wrong with the way that I looked. When J. Lo and Beyoncé came out and were making curves sexy, I started to accept myself more. It's funny, but just seeing them look and feel sexy enabled me to do the same."

No photo-shopping, air-brushing here.

Actually, refreshing, Glamour. Kudos to you.

UVSunSense Wristband Monitors Time In The Sun

What a cool fun in the sun idea! And for just $7, you can protect your entire family from the harmful rays of the sun for a whole day at the beach.

We saw a few sunbathers wearing these UV monitoring wristbands last weekend. And kids seem to think they're okay to wear, too.

The product is called UVSunSense. Look at the photos. The procedure is very simple. You're placing a wristband on with the color side up.

You apply sunscreen with an SPF 15 or higher, all over exposed body parts and over the UVSunSense band.

When exposed to sunlight, the band immediately turns purple to indicate it has been activated.
When the band is no longer purple, it is recommended to reapply sunscreen on your body and on the band.
When the words "APPLY SUNSCREEN TO THIS SIDE" are no longer clearly visible, it is recommended to cover up or get out of the sun.

What a brilliant idea. Duh? Why couldn't we have thought of this product concept!

Let's be honest, some of us hate re-applying sunscreen. Some of us don't remember when we last applied the stuff...was it 8:30 AM or 10:00 AM?

But the UVSunSense wristbands take the guess-work out of your fun in the sun. The bands contain a sun-sensitive gauge to monitor the strong and damaging UVA and UVB rays.

The wristbands are actually made using #5 plastics and can be recycled through many curbside programs at the end of the day.

A package of 6 UvSunSense wristbands can be purchased ($7) at http://www.amazon.com/ and other online sites, and through some retailers).

For more information, visit: http://www.uvsunsense.com/.

Vanessa Hudgens Loves All Things Beauty And Shares Tips

Singer/actress Vanessa Hudgens has been playing around with makeup since she was 9-years-old. And today at 20, the young woman who was catapulted into fame in the High School Musical trilogy, now has the confidence to experiment with all things beauty.

And Vanessa Hudgens is sharing her tips with us.

Vanessa graces the cover of InStyle's Makeover annual fall issue:

1. Kerastase Oleo-Curl Mist ($34, http://www.kerastase.com/). Vanessa is hooked on the oil-based curling agent. "This formula amps up my waves. I apply it after towel-drying my hair, then scrunch the waves and go!"

2. Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Vendetta ($23, fine dept. stores, and also at http://www.chanel.com/). Vanessa isn't into the soft pastel nail shades at the moment. "I'm really into Chanel nail polishes. The dark colors are so amazing with all of the different shimmers in them."

3. Aquolina Pink Sugar eau de Toilette Spray ($55, http://www.ulta.com/). Yummy! This is one scent that smells so edible. "Amazing! It's a sweet scent like cotton candy," Vanessa says. And she's right. Soft and sexy.

4. Neutrogena Wave Power-Cleanser and Deep Clean Foaming Pads ($13, local drugstore). Vanessa really enjoys washing her face this way, because the little gadget does all the work. "I'm kind of lazy when it comes to my skin," she explains. "But the Neutrogena Wave is fun! You put it on a cleansing pad, press the button, and it vibrates as you wash your face!"

5. Comptoir Sud Pacifique in Vanille Abricot ($53, http://www.lushoasis.com/). Vanessa is addicted to the food aroma. "I love food smells. This vanilla-apricot fragrance is always in my bag."

Thanks, Vanessa Hudgens, for sharing your favorite beauty things.

Trainer David Kirsch Can Build You A Great Butt

We fell in love with fitness celebrity trainer David Kirsch, ever since we saw model Heidi Klum working out with him after one of her pregnancies. Heidi was trying to get back to supermodel shape. And boy, did she ever. And now we know why.

It's simple. It's because of David Kirsch. He's amazing and a sensible fitness expert.

And we recently caught him on TV, talking about building a great butt. Yeah, he's like a sculptor. David Kirsch claims he can take any butt: flat, big, small, fallen, and design you a perfect rear view.

And we believe him, because he has a great new manual on how to get a nicely shaped rear. It's called, The Butt Book. And it will soon be available at Barnes and Noble bookstores.

What we adore about this butt-how-to-manual, is its simplicity. David Kirsch says you don't need to use costly cardiovascular machines or clumsy strength-training devices.

Take a look at some of the cute illustrations from his new The Butt Book:

So, is this a healthy way to melt fat away? Most experts would say no, and that the sound method of shedding pounds should equal only the loss of about 2 lbs. per week. That ensures a longer term weight loss.

We have to admit that both Kim and Khloe Kardashian look beautiful and fit. We aren't sure how hard Khloe works out, but we do know how serious Kim K is about exercise, since she has her own work-out videos.

These QT weight loss products aren't even out yet. You can prer-order at the website. In a few weeks, you will be able to buy them at your neighborhood GNC store.

How expensive is the QT program? We took a look at the 14-day Burn and Cleanse. That sells for $49.99. But there's a back-order at the moment.

It seems like anything the Kardashian sisters sell these days, is instant gold for them.

New DDF Line Adds Turmeric Spice To Skin Care Beauty

We are very intrigued by this new DDF skin care collection, and for the simple fact, that the spice turmeric is in the formula.

The line is called: DDF Advanced Protocol with Turmeric Complex.

Most of you are probably sitting there and saying, so what--- it's a spice used in Indian and south Asian cooking. Big deal.

However, science is discovering what ancient times have always known about this pungent, bright yellow-orange spice. It contains a lot of power. Turmeric is a strong anti-oxidant.

BeautyTipToday, has written about the beauty of Turmeric powder in a previous article. We learned the value of eating turmeric to protect against breast cancer and to re-vitalize skin.

"Turmeric powder is an anti-oxidant, anti-septic, and anti-inflammatory-acting spice. It also has iron and potassium in it, and belongs to the ginger family.

Ayurvedic healers consider turmeric to be a varnya herb, which means, enhances your complexion. Its strong anti-bacterial properties fight pimples and breakouts. And many women lighten or even out their skintone with a paste containing turmeric powder.

Dr. Andrew Weil talked about the powerful, anti-cancer benefits of turmeric powder in an article at his website back in 2003:

"Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is the yellow spice most familiar in Indian cooking and American-prepared mustard. Not only do I think that it is safe to take after breast cancer treatment, I think it would be helpful. The reason is that turmeric affects hormones that promote inflammation and cell proliferation, processes that seem to underlie most cancers."

And now DDF has made turmeric complex an important key to its skin care collection.

Let's look at one of these treatments:
DDF Advanced Protocol Firming Cream ($130, 1.7 oz, fine stores, and online at http://www.drugstore.com/)

Hydrates to measurably improve skin firmness.
The advanced formula contains a breakthrough Turmeric Complex to protect skin's surface from free radical damage and provide superior hydration to strengthen skin's moisture barrier.
DDF Advanced Firming Cream helps reverse the appearance of aging, instantly firming and tightening skin for a radiant, younger-looking complexion.

Neutralizes 82% of free radicals to minimize surface damage
Instantly firms and tightens
Fortifies skin's moisture barrier

It's a bit pricey, but it sounds like a promising advancement in anti-aging skin care.

Bleached Eyebrow Trend Bizarre On Runways And Celebs

Ladies, rule number one: Just because you see it on the runway, doesn't mean it works here, in real life.

Like the bleached 'no brow' eyebrow trend.

Sometimes designers push far beyond the normal fashion boundaries for 'cause and effect,' and high drama. And this new facial trend has been seen at the Givenchy, Prada, Armani, and Alexander McQueen shows.

The photo of gorgeous Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima shows her before and after eyebrow photo. She still looks very pretty without brows, but looks almost lost or robotic and even sexless, as some critics are saying. Givenchy bleached Adriana's brows for their fall ad campaign.

And the second photo shows singer Deborah Harry of Blondie fame, with the same no brow tend.

We, here at BeautyTipToday.com, have written several articles on how to keep our eyebrows fuller and more natural.

We have told you time and time again, that too much plucking, will yield scraggly, thin brows, by the time you reach your mid-30s to early 40s.

And our makeup legend friend, Sandy Linter, has been blunt about the whole brow plucking issue. She says the biggest beauty mistake she sees, are women with too-thin eyebrows. According to Sandy, that ages a woman immediately.

The late Way Bandy, a famous makeup artist in the 1970s, used to say that eyebrows are a frame for the eyes. Way did not believe in a very thick or very dark brow because he claimed the frame should never over-power the picture, or eyes in this case. But we do not believe that Way would have favored women walking around town with the bleached 'no brow' eyebrow trend.

Some pros, however, give the look the green light. "It is a fantastic look," The New York Times quotes makeup artist Mindy Hall as saying. "On the right face, it's gorgeous. On the wrong face shape, it's not so ... You wouldn't use the word 'gorgeous' for it."

Certainly, not exactly gorgeous. Ladies, if you want to rock this brow-less look, please, whatever you do, do not pluck out all your eyebrows. Try bleaching. It can be 're-fixed' later.

How To Plump Up Your Lips The Natural Way

Everyone seems to love plumper, fuller, sexier lips.

Actress Angelina Jolie probably has the most recognizable big lips in Hollywood. Maybe, too full.

If you're looking to plump up your lips, and want to forget the stinging needles of collagen in your dermatologist's office, you can try this:

Plump up your lips the natural way.

And all you need is one ingredient you can find in your grocery store aisle or natural food store.

You have a choice:
1. Peppermint oil
or
2. Cinnamon leaf oil

Each small bottle of oil will cost you about $5-$6.

In fact, if you look at some of the over-the-counter lip plumpers available, you will see the ingredients often list peppermint oil or cinnamon leaf oil. Both natural products set off a small allergic reaction that causes temporary swelling.

Even derms like David Bank of Mount Kisco, NY, advise women to "dab your pout with peppermint oil" for a natural way to plump lips.

But we would like to exercise some caution here. First, make sure you are not allergic to peppermint or cinnamon to begin with. And secondly, a tiny amount goes a long-ggggg way.

And be prepared for the burn!! We advice you to add the peppermint oil or cinnamon leaf oil to your favorite lip gloss or lip balm.

Do not add the oil directly to your naked lips, or you will feel the pain.

And it's as simple as that---plumper, fuller, sexier lips, at least temporarily.
