Get Real: It's All About Teal Nails For Spring 2012

Okay, let's talk about the color teal.

We love the shade, but for some reason, we don't think teal looks pretty against our light olive skin tone. Check out our BeautyTipToday archives on teal eyeshadow/liner.

But teal, the medium-blue-green hue, is the new hot nail trend for Spring 2012.

Speaking of which, we just saw a gorgeous teal top in a catalogue, and it's so lovely we want it, but we can't seem to get over our fear of wearing teal.

Maybe, if we started out with teal nails, we could slowly advance from there.

Estee Lauder has just launched their own Spring 2012 nail trend:

28 Teal Topaz, Pure Color Nail Lacquer. Very nice. We are liking it, and it looks turquoise-ish, a color we fell in love with years ago.

And we hunted down Butter London 3 Free Nail Lacquer in Slapper, Spring/Summer 2012 Collection ($14, at Nordstrom's. Lovely, luxurious shade, also.

Will you 'nail' the teal trend in Spring?

Check These Out To Stop Curling And Other Hot Iron Burns

This is both cute and smart!

But let us first ask:

Have you ever burned yourself with a curling iron or other hot iron styling tool?"

We once practically burned a small hole through our forehead after getting clumsy with a curling iron. And that hurt so much.

Well, we're happy to see that some brilliant beauty creators are busy looking out for each and every one of us. Say hello to Glam Ears ($12 for 2, at clevergirlinnovations.com).

Don't laugh. If you've ever singed your ears from an accidental swipe with a hot iron styling tool, well, you know the sheer pain that quickly results. And when you're playing with hot rollers, flat irons, and curling irons, these styling gadgets can heat up to an excess of 400 degrees.

What we adore about Glam Ears is its simplicity and protection. These adorable silicone ear covers can do all this while you pretty-up your hair:

• Reusable - easy to put on and remove
• Heat resistant to 450 degrees
• Made of silicone; safe, non-toxic to skin
• So comfortable, you will forget you have them on
• Washable with soap and water; air dry
• Safely shields ears from the harsh dyes of hair color. Hair color may stain GlamEars , but does not affect the integrity of the product.
• One size fits most

Beyonce Reveals Post-Baby Body In NYC: But Tongues Keep Wagging

Just one month after welcoming Baby Blue Ivy Carter into the world, Beyonce Knowles made a public appearance in New York City last evening, celebrating husband Jay-Z's double concert dates at Carnegie Hall.

And proud, new mama Beyonce wowed her fans with her rockin' post-baby body in a curve-enhancing orange Alice Temperly dress with sexy Louboutins and blue nail polish.

Amazing! That's just how she looked post-baby, and how she has always looked BEFORE baby.

Maybe that's why the tongues keep wagging.

Just go to any online post today about Beyonce's post-baby body debut, and you will find tons of comments about the multi-Grammy award singer. And some of these remarks are not too kind. About half of the more than 250 comments at People.com suggest that the beautiful star was NEVER pregnant to begin with, that Beyonce definitely had a surrogate deliver Baby Blue, and so on.

We are certainly not here to judge Beyonce and Jay-Z. We are happy the couple has welcomed a healthy baby girl, and that everyone is doing fine.

Did we, too, have doubts about the real or faux pregnancy?

Yes, and that is all we will say.

We will add, that when you are a famous celebrity like Beyonce, everything you do and say is examined and re-examined. And when you are living in the public eye it is so difficult to have a private life. Beyonce has always conducted herself with such grace, kindness and class, and yet, people are so curious about her, even how tall or short she really is. For years now, there have been lots of posts about the singer's height. Beyonce adores sky-high stilettos and some claim she is only 5'3", while others argue that Beyonce is really 5'7". And so on....

During an interview televised on ABC with Katie Couric last month or so, BEFORE Baby Blue's arrival, Beyonce talked about the untrue stories that were circulating about her so-called fake baby bump. At that precise moment, we wished that the talented singer would have merely flashed the world her pregnant belly just to dispel the rumors. That's all---just a little peek at the belly.

No, Beyonce did not do that, nor was she asked to show her growing belly. Period.

So, the tongues keep wagging. Meantime, the singer is in great, curvy shape, and as soon as we hear about her post-baby diet secrets, we will bring them your way.

Balenciaga Runway Shows Bold Black-Cherry Lips In Spring 2012

Many wonderful trends come off the runways each season, and although we shouldn't copy EVERTHING we see on the catwalk, this is one little beauty tip we think you will like:

Black cherry lips. All glossed up.

Fashion and beauty editors were going ga-gag over the dark, sexy mouths that ruled the Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton 2012 spring runways. You couldn't help but notice the striking lip color sitting pretty beneath the low-sloping hats of the Balenciaga show and boldly standing out on the Louis Vuitton models.

Celebrated makeup artist Pat McGrath tells Vogue magazine about the strong black-cherry lips trend she started, "It was about about power."

And you can get the runway look here, too. Pat gives out the details:

1. Layer CoverGirl Queen Collection Lipstick in Fine Wine($6.99) OVER CoverGirl LipPerfection Lipstick in Euphoria($6.99).

Okay, so black-cherry lips aren't for the shy gals, but think of the shade as a great Spring 2012 accessory. Like a gorgeous pair of shoes, you don't need much else.

New Clearasil Pimple-Fighting Dispenser Doles Out Right Amount Of Cleanser

Clearasil has been around for a long time. Back in the day, it was the ONLY acne-clearing cream available in some drugstores. We liked putting on the invisible lotion. And then there was the tinted formula, too.

The Clearasil company is still on a roll all these years. And their newest pimple-fighting idea comes in the way of a battery-operated automatic face-wash dispenser (with refills). It's pretty clever, considering the space-saving bathroom contraption knows exactly how much Clearasil face wash to hand over to you---and that is, in nickel-sized spurts.

So, you might ask----Who needs a $20 gizmo to squirt out their own face wash? Duh....Can't you do it yourself?

Yes, you can. However, the Clearasil PerfectWash Automatic Face Wash Dispenser doles out the 'perfect' amount, because the company knows that most of us use TOO much cleanser in an effort to really mop up the pimples, and when we do that, well, you get red, irritated, too-dry skin
.

Clearasil explains it like this:

Touch-free automatic dispenser delivers the perfect dose for visibly clearer skin without overdrying
Visibly clearer skin in as little as 12 hours
Ultra Rapid Action face wash acne medication gives you visibly clearer skin in as little as 12 hours
Pack includes 2 clearasil ultra rapid action refills; Soothing plant extracts and superfruit splash
Pack includes 3 Alkaline AA batteries
.

We took a look at Amazon.com and most of the 39 reviews we read, seem to favor the PerfectaWash Automatic Face Wash Dispenser. Click here.

Customers gave the new Clearasil acne-fighting gadget 4 out of 5 stars. Not bad.

Suzanne Somers: Plastic Surgery Pioneer Or Just Fearful Of Aging?

Suzanne Somers.

You're either gonna love this woman or hate her. But first, let's remind everyone she IS 65-years-young.

And we have to admit, she looks pretty darn good. And yes, we know she's had a lot of work done, but she's also trying to carve a path for other women when it comes to cutting edge beauty/health science.

Still, there are critics....plenty of them, quick to label Suzanne Somers a kooky senior citizen who won't accept that her celebrated body and face can NOT stop the aging process.

Well, maybe she has stopped something, and opened a door to more options for women, when it has to do with breasts and body image.

Last year, there were rumors going around that the star had undergone a stem-cell facelift because she had talked about wanting to have one in the future, plus her face had suddenly taken on a very full, puffy appearance. She has not admitted to the procedure that we know of, but has just admitted to stem-cell surgery on her breasts.

According to People magazine, Suzanne Somers recently underwent an experimental procedure to reconstruct her breasts using her OWN stem-cells. She says her breasts were uneven in size, following breast cancer 12 years ago, where she had a lumpectomy and radiation.

"I thought they'd take a quarter's worth," she says. "But the whole bottom half of my breast was gone."

Six weeks of radiation "left what breast I had flatter and flatter. I had a Double D on one side and on the other side I could hardly fill a B."

Suzanne turned to this man, Dr. Kotaro Yoshimura, a Japanese surgeon who developed stem-cell breast reconstruction in 2004. He agreed to do the expensive surgery here in the U.S..

A mixture of her fat and stem-cells was injected back into her right breast until it filled a C cup. Suzanne then had her left breast reduced from a DD to match.

People noted, "The 2½-hour process costs between $14,500 and $19,500 and insurance chips in if the surgery is a reconstruction".

Suzanne Somers has gone one step further, and we think it is a major stride:

Last August, she helped introduce a clinical trial, which has been approved by an independent medical board. And Suzanne was the first patient to participate.

So far, 10 more patients have been accepted to the trial, which is taking place at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center.

What do you think? Is Suzanne Somers a plastic surgery pioneer? Or just a woman fearful of aging?

New Master Precise Ink Pen Draws On Best Cat Eye

Meow if you like cat-eyes!

EyeStudio by Maybelline is calling their brand new Master Precise Ink Pen the 'Next Generation of Liquid Liner.' And we believe them.

Once again, the makeup experts have designed an eyeliner in the easy-to-handle shape of a felt tip pen. But the beauty of the Master Precise Ink Pen is in its uber skinny point. We're talking about an 'ultra-tin 0.4mm brush.'

The felt-tip reminds us of pen & ink used for artwork. So fine-pointed for accuracy.

With a point so thin, you need not worry about messing up too much. You won't get an excess of liquid liner leaking out and fudging up your smooth even lines around the delicate eye area.

Look, we can't live without eyeliner. And trust us, over the years, we have tried most of them, except for cake liner. And applying liquid liner is one of the darn trickiest makeup routines to do, day in and day out. Plus, if you want to wing the liner upward and outward into a sexy, glam cat eye, you've got to have precision and a steady hand. And this new EyeStudio liquid liner felt tip pen makes the application process much easier.

And Maybelline is also raving about the 'super-saturated ink pigments' in their new Master Precise pens. In other words, the fine, felt tip doesn't dry out or skip a beat.

We found the liner at ULTA for $7.99, and so far, the product has received a 4 out of 5 star rating.

Bothered By Tiny Broken Blood Vessels? There's A Laser For That

Laser.

It's a cosmetic treatment that can do tons of beautiful things for your face and body. A laser can boost one's self-esteem with a zap here and a zap there. And after 3 sessions, POOF! They're gone!

Today, we are looking at the vascular laser and how it can zap away bothersome broken capillaries, red spots, and even port wine stains.

Maybe you have a few tiny, broken blood vessels. In all honesty, we have enough to spare. Most upsetting to us, are a few around our cheeks/nose area. By faithfully applying Retin-A to our skin, we have noticed a 'calming down' and softening of these reddish lines on the left side of our face. But on the right side, the broken vessels are more prominent.

We have not submitted our complexion up to a vascular laser yet, but we are considering the procedure, and here, we can learn together.

A vascular laser is a pulse-dye laser that zeroes in on the redness of the skin, vaporizing the tiny broken blood vessels and the red pigmentation.

Vascular laser treatment is a little investment, but a sound one, we think. The cost will vary with the degree of redness, and the location, and depth of the vessels being treated.

The average price of treatment however, could be summed up as follows:

1. One red spot---$150.
2. Nostrils area---$300.
3. Full face---$600
.

So, more importantly, does a vascular laser treatment hurt?

Dermatologists will tell you that most patients feel a stinging sensation, like a rubber band snap, while the pulse of energy is being delivered through the handpiece. But the discomfort isn't anything you couldn't stand. A little Tylenol following the laser treatment, and you're good to go.

How quickly to see results?

About 2-3 weeks AFTER your last treatment.

Lasers are everywhere, when it comes to rejuvenating the skin. The procedures are less invasive than undergoing surgery, and the results can be quite amazing. And even though a few red spots don't sound like the end-of-the-world to most people, it's nice to know that the beauty technology has come a long way.

Lasers are here to stay, and offer a kinder, gentler approach to slow down the aging process.

Women Of Color Take It To Facebook: Where Are All The Brown Bras?

We always think, 'What would we do WITHOUT a nude-colored bra?'

Probably not the most important thought-of-the-day, but when you prefer your intimates not to be showing through a sheer white top, for example, well, you can get the picture.

Now, what if you are a woman of color and want to wear a sheer, white top. You CAN'T put on a nude, buff or flesh-colored bra. That would stick out against your skin tone.

And this brings us to today's interesting subject:

"Where are all the BROWN bras"?!

Hmmm. Where are they? Sure, brown-colored bras certainly DO exist, but perhaps, not in large enough quantities.

31-year-old Tara Raines, a Los Angeles psychologist, points out that there are millions of brown-skinned women who obviously CANNOT match their skin tones to the bras that are offered to all women across the country, bras in nude, buff, beige, blush, etc.

In celebration of Black History month, Tara Raines is asking that today, on February 1st, women click the "like" tab at Facebook.com/morebrownbras, and contact their favorite bra manufacturer or retailer by mail, phone, email or social media (Twitter hashtag #whatsyournude).

We think this is a brilliant idea by Tara. There is certainly strength in number. And frankly, yeah, there should be MORE brown and nude bras for everyone.

"I don't think it's too much to ask that bra makers include darker hues when manufacturing their collections," Tara stated. "Women of color deserve to look and feel sexy, and a big part of that is looking like ourselves."

Amen.

We searched around and found a wonderful online site called, MySkins.com.

The good news----MySkins™ seamless bras and panties come in 20 skin matching "nude" colors. Check out the photo of the model in Walnut plunge bra.

According to the website,..."Each color has been tested extensively on a focus group of nearly 700 women. As a result of this research, our products match 95 percent of the population. Each color, from Honey to Espresso, can transform your body, match your skin and allow you to finally stop worrying about what is being seen and be seen yourself.".

Now, that's what we're talking about, ladies!

Jessica Who? Little Sis Ashlee Simpson Emerges With New Chic Style

These days, it seems like all eyes are on very pregnant Jessica Simpson.

But that might have changed in an instant, following Sunday evening's 2012 SAG Awards Show. Jessica's little sister, Ashlee, walked the red carpet with a new man on her arm, Vincent Piazza, but more importantly, with a brand new, chic style.

We have to say, wow! She's the buzz around Hollywood.

For the Simpson sister who always seems to be in Jessica's shadow, this is a great comeback for Ashlee. The newly divorced singer and mom to toddler, Bronx, has emerged from the ashes and nailed one of the Best Dressed + Best Hair awards in our humble opinion.

Ashlee Simpson has always been labeled the edgy Simpson sister with her rock-n-roll fashion vibe, wilder hairstyles and chameleon color dye-jobs. She's been Goth-haired, golden blonde, bright auburn, medium brown, and just about every shade in between.

But on Sunday's SAG red carpet, Ashlee was the epitome of class with a gorgeous, sleek, almost platinum short do. Gone are the over-the-top hair extensions.

Ashlee Simpson told E's Giuliana Rancic that she loves her current hairstyle because it's easy to maintain and it matches little Bronx's hair.

Her makeup was also flawless, both delicate and classic. And look at Ashlee's black, flowing Jenny Packham gown. It had both an old Hollywood, new modern glamour.

Nice job, Ashlee Simpson! Sophistication looks great on you.

Weekly Hydrating Mask---Good Thing This Time Of Year

Moisture.

We all need it, even the oily-skin gals.

This time of year, when the cold winds blow and the temps drop in a big way, you need to arm yourself with a little hydration. Winter and dry air rob the skin of much-needed moisture.

But there is a smart way to battle back. And all it requires is some 15 minutes a week, when you can sit/lie down and put on a hydrating mask. Yep, just a few minutes, once a week, and your glowing complexion will thank you for it.

Plus, it's a cheap investment. For less than $5 a tube, you can pick up a great mask at the drugstore.

Queen Helene's new Olive Oil Masque.

Okay, so it isn't the super expensive La Mer Hydrating Masque, but this one does a GOOD job. And if your skin is very thirsty for some nourishment, applying this mask is a great way to infuse hydration deep into your pores.

Queen Helene's Olive Oil Masque is so nice and creamy, it just bathes your skin in olive oil, along with soothing chamomile and sage extracts help calm and restore softness, while the mask plumps skin to deliver suppleness and elasticity.

You deserve a beauty break, and your complexion could use a little more TLC on these cold, bitter days ahead. Try a soothing hydrating mask. You will feel and see a difference.

A Perfect Foundation Match? J.Lo Wears L'Oreal W6

We don't believe there is a PERFECT foundation match out there.

We don't care if it's liquid, powder, cream, airbrush, or any kind of other foundation mixture. You can come very close to matching your makeup to your complexion, but absolute perfection? We don't think it exists.

So, why wear foundation?

It's simple. Foundation is the building block to your makeup routine. Blush, concealer, eye shadow, etc., all look more polished with a base underneath it all. Plus, foundation, evens out your skin tone and adds a subtle warmth to your face and hides minor imperfections.

We can't help you match your foundation to your complexion. It's very hard to do. You can test a shade by applying some to your neck first, to see how the color blends in or doesn't blend in next to your face. We can't even get it totally right, so you are on your own. But, the cosmetics industry has come a long way, and foundations are on the forefront for finding your perfect match.

We just noticed Jennifer Lopez in a new, glossy magazine ad for L'Oreal's True Match superblendable foundation. And it states:

The Story Behind My Skin:
100% Puerto Rican
Jennifer Lopez, 100% True Mtach W6Sun Beige
.

L'Oreal's True Match foundation claims that after 7 years of research and working with 57 ethnic backgrounds, they've developed 33 foundation shades, including---your perfect match.

Also, L'Oreal says you are 100% guaranteed to FIND your perfect match. We found some at drugstore.com for $11.49 a bottle.

We have not tried True Match, but when it goes on sale, again, we will pick up a bottle, and hopefully find our OWN true match.

In the meantime:

The Story Behind My Skin:
100% Greek
J. Tania Stylianos, Revlon ColorStay Soft Flex, Nude
.

Not that anyone should care.

Not a PERFECT match, but the best we have found so far, for our light olive skin.

Brow Gel: A Little Dab Is Necessary Says Eyebrow Expert

Eyebrows.

If you're a faithful reader of BeautyTipToday, then you've seen a number of articles about brows, and the challenges that go with achieving the perfect, full set.

Since we used to pluck like a mad woman when we were younger, we've been frustrated for years trying to grow out our anemic-looking hairs. And these days, we have had better success by leaving them alone and rubbing in a little Retin-A cream over the brows, which appears to make them grow faster.

Meantime, like many women, we apply a little pencil to fill in any open areas. And today, we are examing clear brow gel, and its importance to a beautiful, polished set of eyebrows.

Nicoleta Barbarasa, a brow technician at the Jose Eber Salon in Beverly Hills, tells People magazine, this:

"I can't live without brow gel. Not only does it keep your brows looking perfectly maintained throughout the day, but it also helps direct hair growth in a flattering direction."

Great beauty brow tip!

And you can find clear brow gel in every neighborhood drug and beauty stores around.

We stumbled onto the Sephora store online and found a super deal on a very good beauty brand. Anastasia Beverly Hills, Clear Brow Gel, a set of 2, at a low price! Regularly, a $42 value, ON SALE now for $30.

We all know that Anastasia is the queen of the perfectly groomed and arched brows, so this is a quality brow gel. And this is what the product can do for you:

"This set of two clear gels for all hair colors help you set, define, and shape your brows all day for a lustrous, natural look. Formulated with conditioning botanicals, this gel keeps unruly brows in their place without any flakiness."

Just a dab will do you, and you're set for the day.

Even Iconic Supermodel Says 'Filler Up' To Injections, Allegedly

She will turn 46 in February. She's the mother-of-2-children. And yeah, she still looks darn good.

We're talking about iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford, the girl with the mole who turned the modeling industry upside-down with her killer curves and unique beauty.

Ever since the new year began, there's been lots of buzz about Cindy and her new face. Many people have observed, that she 'looks different.'

Let's observe. The top photo shows the model 20 years ago, in 1992. And the other photos show Cindy and husband Rande Gerber at a Lakers game about 2 weeks ago. Gorgeous couple!

According to the beauty experts, Cindy's been saying, 'Filler-Up' to injections.

We know the supermodel believes in her own skin care line, Meaningful Beauty, but even the best anti-aging serums and lotions can do just so much to stop the fall of gravity. And as genetically-gifted as Cindy Crawford is, everyone gets older. All faces lose volume and flatten out, and a jawline that was once sharp and contoured, squares off.

So, what did she allegedly do to her face?

"Her cheeks are a lot fuller. She definitely had something injected in her cheeks. Most probably Radiesse or the other option would be Sculptra," California dermatologist, Dr. Ben Behnam told Radaronline.

"They're both designed to give people higher cheekbones. It's very popular in the industry and her cheeks are visibly higher and fuller.".

No. We cannot say for sure if Cindy has resorted to fillers to give her striking features a more youthful buoyancy. But, so what if she has. These days, such injections are used for subtle beauty maintenance.

New York City plastic surgeon, Alan Matarasso told More magazine that a little filler goes a long way:

"The whole key is doing subtle, incremental things that keep up with the aging process rather than going for a homerun."

Not easy to get older, especially when you have to do it in the public eye, and even more difficult, when you are heralded as an iconic supermodel.

Cindy Crawford is a very intelligent woman, and we think she knows where the cosmetic enhancement limit lies. So, to her credit, we think she looks fab.

How To Get A Kardashian, Lopez, Vanderpump Butt--Well, Sort Of

Lately, all we see are butts. And we're not talking small, flat or pancake-looking behinds, either.

Oh, no! It's all about the bigger, curvier, more ample booty. And these days, 3 celebrities are leading the way-----Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, and Lisa Vanderpump.

Wha-aaa?

Yes, Lisa Vanderpump, one of the Beverly Hills Housewives. And at age 51, the reality TV star puts many of us to shame.

So, here we have 3 beautiful women with 3 great butts in these age ranges:

30's. Kim Kardashian
40's. Jennifer Lopez
50s. Lisa Vanderpump
.

There have been tons of rumors that all 3 celebrities have fake butts, or butt implants.

We are not here to judge, and we would like to believe that Kim, Jennifer and Lisa, have amazing behinds because of some amazing genetics.

We also understand, that all 3 women work out to stay in shape, which brings us to this:

We can all 'build' a better butt with some exercise discipline that targets the caboose.

Andie Hecker, a former New York City ballerina-turned Hollywood trainer, has this exercise for a toned booty:

The Butt Blaster
Stand with your torso upright, hands resting on a countertop or chair back. Lift one leg behind you as high as you can, while keeping your hips square to the front, and pulse up 50 times.

Not easy to do, but, er butt, this little exercise will do wonders in no time.

Are you in?

We are!

Would You Do The Nicole Richie Retro Ponytail Do?

Everyone's still talking about Nicole Richie's retro ponytail do from Sunday's Golden Globes Awards Show.

You couldn't miss it. As petite and waif-like in stature the celebrity is, her long blonde hair stood out-----cascading downward like a waterfall.

We loved her beauty style even more than her sleek, sparkly beaded silver gown. Nicole emphasized her big, beautiful eyes with bold liner and settled for a beige-y pink muted lip color.

And if anyone can carry off a sultry 60's vibe, it's Nicole. She reminds us a lot of the late actress, Sharon Tate, a blonde, petite beauty with big, doe eyes like Nicole Richie.

So would you 'do' the Nicole Richie retro ponytail do?

Many women would say, yes, but then again, how the heck do you do this do?!

We have the answer from the Suave Professionals. Stylist Jenny Cho has the hair details, courtesy of nrichienews.com:

1. Sleek, smooth styles are all the rage. Nicole Richie worked it, thanks to the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion System. Copycat it quickly: Spray Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo directly at the root, crown and front of hair. Use your dryer to work in excess powder, and brush through to refresh hair before styling.
2. Pull-up and section-off hair around crown, then tease to create volume; set aside.
3. Use a brush to smooth-out the hair on the sides and back. Pull the back section of hair into a ponytail, securing it with an elastic.
4. Take a side section and wrap around the ponytail, securing with a bobby pin. Take the opposite side and also wrap around the pony, securing with a bobby pin. Lastly, take the teased crown section and lightly smooth and brush back over the ponytail.
5. Work a dime-size amount of Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smooth & Shine Serum into the palms of your hands, then delicately smooth ponytail strands and eliminate flyaways.

By the way, Nicole Richie has been named, the new face of Suave Beauty.

Congratulations!

Secret Weapon Used By Celeb Stylists To Make Big Shiny Hair

We are going to buy a bottle of this tonight, and see if we can create a super blow-out. We're talking about Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion. It's only $4.49 for a whopping 8.5 oz amount at Walgreens.

We've read about this hair product through People's BeautyWatch and Allure magazine. And we just found out, that Rihanna's stylist, Ursula Stephen, uses this long-lasting drugstore formula before stars hit the red carpet.

Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion is really a triple-threat secret beauty weapon. And here's why:

"I use it as a (1)primer before a blow-out, as a (2)texture enhancer to scrunch and shape waves, and as a (3)setting lotion for roller sets," Ursula
explains.

Now, that's what we call a versatile hair product. Plus, the lotion is a big shine-booster. And as we all can see, Rihanna knows how to work a hair-do. She's a true beauty chameleon, never afraid to change it up, again and again. At the moment, she's sporting darker, wild curly locks.

All you do is shampoo first, then massage a bit of Motions lotion through your locks, and then style as you please.

It's not sticky or stiff, and the collagen amino acids product holds hair in place, giving you lots of body and bounce!

Get Gorg Like Gwyneth With Her $425 Glam GOOP Cleanse

There's Gwyneth Paltrow at the beach in the Caribbean last year, showing off a tiny blue bikini surrounded by an incredibly toned body.

And this year, the actress and mom-of-two, still looks svelte with a flat tummy. Plus, she's 39-years-old. Now that's pretty amazing.

And apparently, the Oscar winner would also like you to look like her, too, by investing $425 in the GOOP brand colon cleanse. It's a 21-day detox cleanse kit, a method that Gwyneth swears by. She's selling the detox kit from her popular newsletter website Goop.

But heck, it sounds pretty tasty to us---1 low-calorie meal a day, 2 protein shakes, and some vitamins.

Some nutrition experts are pooh-pooh-ing (couldn't resist), the actress' cleanse kit since she is not a doctor or expert in that field. However, Gwyneth really DOES do a 21-day cleanse often.

Three years ago, we learned about Gwyneth's cleanse, developed by her doctor and detox diet specialist, Dr. Alejandro Junger. It is made up of two liquid meals a day with a solid one (no processed foods, dairy, sugar, etc) in between.

But this $425 cleanse the actress is selling under her GOOP brand is a bit different from Dr. Junger's cleanse, although she designed the GOOP cleanse with him. So, you know it is legit.

If you have an extra $425 lying around, and you REALLY need to detox-diet, then by all means, plunk the cash down. But seriously, we think you can make your very own poop cleanse the old-fashioned way, with some healthy foods and beverages.

We're not knocking Gwyneth Paltrow. She is a very disciplined and health-conscious woman. But $425???

Fujifilm Goes Global With Anti-Aging Beauty Line: No Foolin'

Smile, ladies!

Your face can now look younger, thanks to the experts at Japan's Fujifilm photography corporation. Scientists have learned to harvest a special collagen to turn back time, along with an added natural ingredient known as astaxanthin, which is believed to protect the skin from ultraviolet light.

What's even more bizarre, is that Fujifilm developed, so to speak, the Astalift beauty line idea from it's use of collagen in the making of traditional photographic film.

Did you know that collagen is used in photography to stop old photographic images from fading?!

Wow! This is fascinating beauty science! And apparently, the pros at Fujifilm have been studying this stuff for quite a while:

Andrzej Brylak, director of Fujifilm's European beauty and health division, says that, "Collagen only started being used by the cosmetics industry relatively recently.

"It is a key ingredient in film emulsion and we have a very long history of research in this area. Preventing oxidisation from light exposure is also a big issue in protecting film and a similarly big issue in preventing skin damage."

In Japan, the award-winning Astalift skin care line has been around since its debut there in 2007. And the company has recently launched the line in Singapore. So many women are raving about Astalift. Prices begin at $42, and the beauty products include day and night creams, cleanser, eye cream, collagen powder, and more. And now the European market is next to try Astalift. Lucky you!

The sales of Astalift skincare products will start in February, in France, with UK, Germany, and Spain to follow throughout 2012.

We are certain, that the U.S. will also get its chance to try the cutting-edge Astalift line. We will keep you posted! In the meantime, Ebay is selling a few Astalift skin care items here.

New Wrinkle Eraser Hits The Market: Just Like Cousin Botox

Botox.

We all know how popular the cosmetic injectable is. Wrinkles and lines one day. And Poof---gone the next day, with the sting of a needle.

And now, we are welcoming Botox's new cousin----Xeomin to the war on aging.

Xeomin has been called the 'Botox alternative', and it's the new wrinkle eraser for 2012.

So, what's the difference?

Like Botox, Xeomin treats the 11 lines between the eyes, forehead wrinkles, and the crow's feet by the eyes. But unlike Botox, which can develop resistance over time, this new Botox alternative is LESS likely to do so.

This is still wrinkle-erasing by needle. So, OUCH, the minor discomfort is still present. And the prices are still similar at the moment, usually about $500-700 per session, although pricing is expected to fall because of the competition between Allergan, Medicis, and Merz Aesthetics--the maker of Xeomin.

Probably one of the biggest differences between the 2 injectables is this:

Xeomin has a longer shelf-life than Botox and does NOT require refrigeration like Botox. Great for the physician, but not much of a big deal for the customer.

The way we see it, Xeomin is another FDA-approved injectable, just like cousin Botox. It's wonderful to have a choice when it comes to beauty products, treatments and procedures out there.

In the meantime, we will wait and see how the public reacts to this other new wrinkle eraser, and see exactly how this injectable performs.
